    This charming historic town has a traditional high street, welcoming cafés and pubs, and is surrounded by quiet country lanes and scenic walking routes. The Central Dairy artisan coffee shop is a particular highlight. Just outside the town, you'll find The Antique Village. An eclectic antique shop and cafe which ready to explore.



    Just 20 minutes away, the vibrant city of Exeter offers something for everyone, from the magnificent cathedral and historic quayside to excellent shopping, restaurants, theatres and museums. Continue for another 10 minutes to Topsham, a picturesque estuary town known for its independent boutiques, waterside pubs and the beautiful Exe Estuary Trail, ideal for walking and cycling.



    The seaside town of Exmouth is around 30 minutes by car, where you'll find two miles of sandy beach, watersports, boat trips and a lively marina. On the way, stop in the charming village of Lympstone (around 25 minutes), famous for its waterfront, sailing heritage and excellent pubs.



    Heading east, the elegant Regency town of Sidmouth is around 35 minutes away, offering beautiful gardens, independent shops, a pebble beach and stunning walks along the Jurassic Coast. Food lovers should also visit THE PIG-at Combe (approximately 30 minutes), a beautiful country house hotel renowned for its outstanding kitchen garden and exceptional farm-to-table dining.



    Nature lovers are spoiled for choice. Killerton House and Gardens (15 minutes), managed by the National Trust, offers wonderful woodland walks, historic parkland and seasonal displays.



    Dartmoor National Park is around 40 minutes away, with its dramatic tors, ancient woodlands and endless opportunities for walking, cycling and wildlife spotting. Similarly, Exmoor can be reached in around 45 minutes and the Blackdown Hills in 30 minutes. Closer to Bradninch, you'll also find the Grand Western Canal Country Park, ideal for gentle waterside walks, cycling and kayaking.



    Further afield, North Devon can be reached in an hour and a half. Here you can enjoy the famous expansive beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton Sands, as well as Croyde.

    Getting Around:

    Due to the remote nature of the village, a vehicle is recommended for getting the most out of for stay here. One off-road parking space is available, plus parking on the street is free and unrestricted.



    Other Things to Note:

    All bedrooms and the main sleeping accommodation are located on the first floor and are accessed only by stairs. There is no ground-floor bedroom and no lift. Guests should review the property’s access information carefully and satisfy themselves that the accommodation and emergency escape arrangements are suitable for every member of their party.
