Great cabin with everything we needed. Short drive into cute town and over to the ski resort. Clean and cozy, fully equipped with what we needed and great communication from our hosts.
Very cozy experience, the twin beds upstairs were really comfortable even for a taller individual myself. Woke up refreshed and ready for the adventures around the cabin.
Truly an AMAZING experience! A wonderful weekend away with family to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Close to Shenandoah National Park (our favorite) and set back in a beautiful setting, this is a wonderful cabin! Lots of sleeping options, a well-equipped kitchen, a big deck with a swing to enjoy, fire pit to relax around…just truly wonderful! Dave, the owner, did an exceptional job communicating and making this place a haven to enjoy!
Our family loved our weekend getaway in this home. It’s about 2 miles down a partially paved road, so you really feel like you’re away from everything, but you’re also close enough to attractions, restaurants, and shops for anything you want or need. The house is amazingly well-kept and well stocked. We hope to stay there again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a very private wooded location. The host was very accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed. The chalet was very nice and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked to cook meals. The queen bed was very comfortable. The heating/air conditioning worked great. We didin’t use the deck, but it is very nice. It is a very relaxing atmosphere.
This cabin is breathtaking!! The pictures doesn't do justice to what it truly looks like. The location is secluded and gorgeous. The stream and mountains are amazing. Stay for the weekend and I couldn’t ask for anything better. The host are prompt and friendly. Can’t wait for

Loved having the "secluded cabin in the woods feel" while still being within 20 minutes of the town of Elkton and one of the national park entrances. Convenient location for the national park explorers. Harrisonburg was not far either if you needed a bigger grocery store or restaurant options. Very clean and cozy! The hosts made us feel welcome with a thank you card and bottle of wine waiting for us in the kitchen. Would definitely go back!
We loved the Home! Clean , quiet , and cozy. We made S’mores at the fire pit , and the girls loved the Jacuzzi Tub. They played games and we went skating and Tubing at the Resort. Breakfast at Thunderbird is always our favorite meal. Our Hosts were awesome! They let us checkout late , and left a Birthday Card for Athena❤️
The owner communicated everything quickly and clearly. We had no problems but he responded to our questions almost immediately every time! Even left us a nice bottle of local wine!
The location was close to Skyline Dr. which was what we were looking for, as we were there to hike. The home was comfortable and met all our needs. Thanks for letting us stay!
This was the first trip I had booked for my incredible fiancée and our blended family of young teenagers and young child. So I wanted to make a good impression. Boy did I knock it out of the park with this booking. First of all, the host was absolutely incredible to work with, and made us feel welcome before we even arrived. Super attentive, informative, and helpful. The place was clean and beautiful, comfortable and cozy. I highly recommend. Everyone was happy and the wifi was strong so all the kids were satisfied 😅 would absolutely book again.
We were surprised with a bottle of wine and snacks compliments of our hosts Melissa and Dave. This beautiful Chalet was perfect. The expansive A- framed ceiling with floor to ceiling windows and slidung doors opening to a beautiful 2nd floor deck made our stay so enjoyable. The attention to detail was impressive. From beautiful matching bed spreads to specialty coffee maker to lovely spa bathtub. We stayed 7 nights waking up each morning to hike the Appalachian trail in Shenandoah National Park. Skyline drive just 20min away. We will be back. Thank you Melissa and Dave
The home was lovely and clean. Had everything we needed and was on a quiet dirt road. There is a grocery store about 15 minutes away and a couple restaurants in town, so it's not too far from things you need. It's about 25 minutes from Skyline drive. A warm shower and sitting by the fire after a hike was wonderful. Dave was easy to contact and very nice and helpful. The internet service is spotty because it's out in the woods, so I wouldn't recommend if trying to work remotely but it is a lovely vacation spot. Also, I recommend 4-wheel drive or a higher car and arriving in the day time. There are small bridges next to sharp turns on the dirt road.
Let me begin my saying Dave (the host) was kind, detailed, attentive and went out of his way to make sure we had an amazing weekend. This was a surprise birthday getaway for my partner and Dave was kind enough to leave us a birthday card and welcome package. He also left us tons of recommendations for the area and quick to respond to any of our needs. It truly felt like a Bnb experience with Dave.
The property was amazing in itself. Its three levels equipped with sizable deck for grilling and a front yard area for sitting by the fire pit. The first level has a massive jacuzzi tub and a cozy living room to gather around and watch a movie.
The second level is beautiful with huge 10+ foot open windows that lead to the deck. I wanted to have a nice breakfast to sit and enjoy the views on the deck and Dave's full kitchen has everything you might need to Chef things up! I really enjoyed having both an indoor and outdoor dining table (which could easily sit 6-10 people) as it got colder in the evening we moved things inside. Dave's eye for detail really makes this place feel so cozy and perfect on a crisp autumn day.
The third level is filled with multiple beds but is open & spacious enough that you wont feel like you're on top of one another.
I really enjoyed my stay and it really felt like a home away from home. I'll be making this my go-to whenever I need a change of pace weekend getaway from the city.
Thank you so much Dave for opening up your home to us!
