"This property has so much potential but underdelivered in several key ways. We received no check-in info and had to contact the host the morning of our arrival. The view—our primary reason for booking—was absolutely stunning. The lake and volcano scenery was incredible, and the location struck a great balance between peaceful seclusion and proximity to restaurants and markets. Unfortunately, the outdoor experience was lacking. The main deck, shown in photos with furniture, was completely empty....

"Excellent location for spotting a rich variety of birds and a great view of arenal volcano from our balcony. Very friendly and accommodating restaurant staff, especially David, Howard and Alexa. Nice room, better than I was expecting, albeit on the small side for a family of 4. If you’re looking for wildlife on your doorstep and a great view of the volcano, it a great pick. We even had a lovely hot but comfortable large jacuzzi for a rainy day. The on-site cafe was poor for vegan options, but...

"This is a magical stay and we can’t say enough about how much we loved being at the Monkey Tree house. We walked down to the river and went for a swim, saw howler monkeys, strawberry poison dart frogs, and had a relaxing afternoon. Alondra and the team served us amazing breakfasts in the morning and took time to chat. Rae gave us good advice on what to do with one of our kids being sick. We took her advice and got some medicine from the pharmacy. We had a pizza delivery right to our treehouse....
