"Trendy, stylish and clean hostel with friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, good kitchen and excellent rooms and bathrooms. Not in the nicest part of town, but close to the bus station and supermarket."
"The hotel was beautiful and was fun to learn the history. We had the room at the top with the large balcony and it was one of the best views we’ve had at a hotel. What really made it special was the staff, they were so kind and helpful and made us feel at home. Thank you for such a great experience!"
"Nice family run hostel in convenient location to town centre and main bus station. Facilities are clean and well managed. Hostel owners are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good choice for any traveller."

"The hotel is very cool. The room was very spacious, quiet and had a great view. The breakfast on the terrace was wonderful and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Being able to park our car was definitely convenient. The location is great, it gave us the opportunity to see the city as we walk to the touristic area"
"Great location, unbeatable views, professional and friendly staff, including car service that picked me up at Santiago airport. Beautiful property respectful of historical structure combined with modern additions. "
"Everything was great, well decorated, super clean and comfortable.
I just didn't like much the surrands. Had to park the car a few blocks away and I didn't feel safe to walk there in the evening."
"This is a gorgeous property in the Cerro Alegre, walkable to everything. The staff was professional and helpful - and spoke English, which was much appreciated as we arrived after traveling for 24 hours! The breakfast was terrific, the room large and well-appointed. Highly recommend!"
"The view of the Bay/water front was beautiful. But if you were looking for the beach you need to go further up or down the coast. The hotel is clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast was more than just coffee & bread. You had fruit, egg, sausage, pastries and so much more to eat. This area was very walkable. As you walked the city the dining options were plentiful from Pizza to Chinese to local dining. Public transportation was easily found.
The only disappointing aspect of the city was the Graffiti that was everywhere. But we enjoyed our time in Valparaiso. "
"Friendly staff, exceptionally clean hostal. For budget travelers looking to find a safe, clean, comfortable place to stay I highly recommend La Joya. The front desk staff speak English and Spanish. My stay included breakfast and it was well worth the additional fee. I also ate in the attached restaurant one evening and the portion was enormous and the food was delicious. There was a rooftop balcony that works well if you are a remote worker or just want to relax and meet fellow travelers at the end of the day. The rooftop balcony is spacious, spotlessly, clean, and has lovely views of the city."
