Firstly, I'd like to say that the hotel in general and the room were very clean. I was given a room with two small mattresses covered with a bed sheet instead of a single mattress. As a result, they constantly drifted apart. The air conditioner in the room worked only when my room card was inserted, and the room would get very hot when i was out. The room itself was very putdated, with 1970s wooden panneling and an old scratched bathtub. When i asked to be moved to a different room, the concierge informed me that the hotel was booked- a quick check on Expedia showed 4 rooms available. I was told i would be informed when the new room would come up- no one contacted me during my 9- day stay. There was constant confusion about how to get in and put of the parking. Every concierge would offer different, contradictory advice about how to use the card. I stayed in Van Der Valk Bilt, Nijmeghen Lent, Breuklen, Zaltbommel- only in Eindhoven I experienced this substandard service . I would neither recommend it, nor stay there again.

Going downhill quickly
No hot water for most of the day, dirty room, uncleaned and broken coffee machine in room, cheapest toilet paper possible. Youth hostel feeling when you enter the hotel with dozens of people 'hanging around' sitting against windows, powering up their electronic devices at the limited power outlets. Slow internet connection. etc. etc. What happened to this hotel? It used to be my favorite in the area...

Contradiction Comes to Mind.
Arrived Sunday evening. Went to restaurant at 9.30pm told it’s ok to dine there, went to put bags in room, came back at 9.45pm to be told kitchen closed. Then told bar does food. Go to bar, sit down, get drinks, given menu, select, then told by waiter the chef has closed the kitchen .. this was now 10pm. The only option was the 24/7 self service pizza and microwave option. Not good after a 300 mile drive. This frankly for a hotel the size of this one is not good enough. Contradicting is how I’d sum it up. Room smelt too. Bed was really narrow, remote had been used so much the controls were done by guess work. So instead of investing in a robot gimmick maybe Van de Valk you put a bit of effort into a robot chef, and a robot who knows remote TV controls. Not happy great shame as your group had a decent reputation from previous use. But sort your kitchen malarkey out please! It was a farce.

Blue Army at the Van der Valk
We stayed as a family for football. We loved the hotel, however was disappointed with the beds as they were not double so uncomfortable. Also the little shop was brilliant but service was very slow at times. Also when we checked out the receptionist charged us again even though we told her we had paid in full.

Price- quality wise an ok stay.
I was provided with a room that had clearly not been renovated in a long time. A lot of wear and tear and also not too clean on all levels. Do have to say that the room was spacious, the bed comfortable and it had a nice shower. I paid a really nice price so overall not too bad. Do advise to ask for a room away from the highway side as the frist room I got was really noisy, the receptionist was really friendly and immediately offered me a different room.

Lovely staff. Rooms were great and restaurant was nice. Buffet breakfast was really nice, lots of choice. Only down point for us was that the swimming pool was closed in the morning. Checkout was at noon, so we thought we could swim before that but unfortunately the swimming pool didn't open till noon.

NOT COVID secure t hot and noisy
Tried to cancel my booking after Netherlands was added to the quarantine list hotel refused as it was a business trip and I several other hotels booked I decided to go ahead On arrival there was no social distancing and I was the only person wearing a mask Room was above main walk way and very noisy No air conditioning very hot A fan provided was of no affect Preferred to stay in room due to lack of social distancing

We love staying here - friendly staff, comfy beds, spacious room and amazing buffets. This year we stayed in a recently renovated room with a cute retro theme. The room was handicap accessible so the bathroom was open to the shower and had a sliding door. The odd thing was the sliding door to the bathroom was clear transparent glass, so very little privacy - an uncomfortable situation for a mother sharing the room with her adolescent sons... We all managed, claiming our individual bathroom time, so not a major issue, just a bit odd... Perhaps the glass could be frosted or something?

Avoid the Buffet
Our second stay here for the Swimming Championship weekend. The rooms are great and cozy. The food, especially the buffet is not worthy of the price. It’s boring and bland. breakfast for €18?!! Dinner €30+. !!! The cost does not include beverages.

Great facilities in general. The only problem I had was with the room as it had a stale, old smell that suggested it was either a room that wasn't used often or the carpets need changing. It was too late to change rooms when i got to my room so had to sleep in it. Ironkng board was also falling to bits.

Overall good stay.
Our experience was okay! Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful while their were some who lacks customer service. I called for towels and was told it'll be up shortly and never came.

The bar was very good although service was slow. The pool was relaxing but too warm for swimming. Breakfast was spread out and it was easy to miss selections.

I liked this hotel as it was busy but quiet. Staff were helpful in guiding where to go and what transport was more useful to get into the city centre.
