"The apartment was as seen online. Slight issue with WiFi log in details but it got sorted swiftly. The cutlery really needs overhauled as it’s more aesthetically pleasing than useful. I suggested adding steak knives. The location is very central to the town and nothing is more than 5/10 mins walk at most. You don’t need a car here unless you are traveling to the surrounding countryside. There are a few walks around the town. "

"The cottage was great, all you would need for a good relaxing holiday, we did have a problem with the boiler on arrival but that was quickly sorted out by the agency, in all the cottage was perfect for our needs, the only down side was the fact we had our car keyed outside the cottage, but I suppose that could happen anywhere!"

"An idyllic location and convenient for exploring the local area. Southview is comfortable and has everything you could need in a cottage, so well equipped, clean and tidy. The views from the rear of the cottage are stunning and we particularly enjoyed watching the entertaining sheep and chickens from the lounge. The Bowes museum is literally opposite the cottage and it is a short walk into Barnard Castle which has some lovely places to eat and drink. The owner, Chris, is on hand for any issues as he lives next door. Would definitely recommend for a chilled out and relaxing break."

"Walking distance to the shops. Steep stairs on entry and several changes in floor level within the flat. Difficult for an elderly guest. Very quiet."

"We were very pleased with the property but we had several concerns. The property description listed a dryer but there was none. If we’d known we’d have brought a clothes line and pegs. We’d advise future guests to bring some extra toilet paper (only one roll was provided). Also bring some extra dishwasher tablets (two were provided) but if you are staying for more than a few days you might need them. A dish scrubber would be handy since there were only J-clothes and a soft bristle brush. Be aware that the parking space is very tight. This can’t be helped due to the age of the area. Other than these issues we were very impressed with the property."
