Well located to train station, new town, and more. More stairs than expected from the street level to the lobby. Has a lift from the lobby to other floors. Spacious rooms. Bed comfortable.
The Old Waverly is running an outstanding support operation for a traveler such as me: they stored my bag prior at around 10a when I arrived on my train, to allow me to tour the city before check in time; when I needed to leave very early the next morning for my departure flight, they brought my pre-paid breakfast to my room; it’s on the same block as the Waverly Train Station and the Airlink100 bus to the airport. The place was clean and tidy. I’d stay there again.
Highly overpriced, very small rooms. No regular size double bed. Bar closes at 11 pm. Breakfast below par. The only good thing is the location

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Hotel is incredibly located, unobstructed hotel room window view of Edinburgh Castle. Hotel is old, floors uneven, carpet needs to be stretched. It’s a wonderful old building in a incredibly historical city, with wonderful charm and nice staff. It was noisy at night with all the street music and activities on a very busy street 6 floors below.. It’s not a fancy hotel. I would love to stay there again when I get back to finish seeing what I missed.
