Top Edinburgh Hotel Reviews

Market Street Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location. Right across from the train station. One street over from the Royal mile and a bridge crossing to New town. Great snacks and drinks at no cost in the room. Wonderful rain showers and great heat and air conditioning."

Dakota Edinburgh
6/10 Okay
"Air conditioning was weak, we woke up a few times hot. The room was stuffy and dated. It’s not a luxury experience, it was average.
The rest of the hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. Wouldn’t come and stay again but would eat here."

Garner Edinburgh Haymarket by IHG
6/10 Okay
"Staff at reception excellent. Had a window free room, very compact and warm, but ok for one night. Very handy for train station right across road ."

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"We were in room 113 and it was horrible. I booked 10 months in advance and got the worst room in the place. The windows were painted over so we didn’t see the bin area that would have been our view. Room was also next to the maintenance room. It was so loud. Staff were still tossing things in the bins (as loud as possible) at 11:30p. It must also be their smoking area because I smelled cigarette smoke coming in around midnight. At 5am I was startled awake thinking there was a huge thunder storm, turns out it was staff again in the bin area doing god knows what, but it was so loud! The door they were using squeaked loudly so we heard every time they opened and closed that door. We were so exhausted we had to skip our early tour of Edinburgh Castle to try and get a little more sleep. We ended up skipping the tour after that as well - we were just so exhausted we just wanted to get out of the city. We will never stay at this hotel again. If you ever get room 113 or near there, ask for another room!"

ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile
10/10 Excellent
"Check-in staff was super helpful when I requested a change of room as the first room had a window directly into the patio."

YOTEL Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"We had a good experience here. The room was actually very spacious for being a smaller square footage room. It was perfect for 2 people. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Great location to everything. Only downside was… you can hear the other nearby hotel room doors closing at night time when it’s time for sleep, but this is common in most hotels. There was no coffee or complimentary water in the room, but they do offer it in the lobby. I would recommend you stay here while visiting Edinburgh."

The Hoxton Edinburgh
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great food on premises and very nice lobby area to hang out and grab a drink."

Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"A very nice hotel, conveniently located to the High Street in Edinburgh. Has a very nice bar/restaurant (you kinda have to like bars, and I don't ... but the drinks were good and they did have some very nice dishes on the menu) and excellent breakfast (even includes custom-made omelets).
Room was comfy and quiet. I thought it was bit tight. But, worked quite well after being out and about all day.
I wish I'd known there was hotels from this chain in London (near St. Paul's) and in Dublin (near Dublin Castle). I'd have probably stayed at those as well."

The Resident Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"We enjoyed our stay at The Resident as it was well located to what we had planned and the staff was quite pleasant. However, as far as value - we felt the room to be small for the price paid. We also felt the bathroom tub was quite dangerous to get in and out of — as one had to step very far up and INTO it without a bar to hold or a proper door. The door of the shower also leaked a bit and we didn’t care for that as it required us to be rather mindful.
If you’re looking for amenities - this hotel doesn’t seem to have many. No parking. No bar. However, it does have a great happy hour where they serve free drinks? So that was fun. Housekeeping was also pretty solid as they came every day for turn down, even on the days we woke up late. For a short stay, The Resident could be ideal."
