"Great location, small but comfy room with lovely mattress on the bed, friendly staff and good choice of breakfast items (continental and cooked). We were able to check in early as our rooms were ready and there was plenty of parking in the hotel car park (out of season). The only negative was the soundproofing between rooms - we could hear the entire phone conversation from the man next door and throughout the night, could hear bathroom fans running. "

"Our four night stay at the Masons Arms was a dream come true. We first saw the pub/hotel 49 years ago and were delighted to finally have an opportunity to stay here. The room was wonderfully cosy in the inn and its recent updates were much appreciated. The shower was great and the towel heater was a treat for this Canadian! We had our breakfasts and dinners in house and the food was delicious. The location of the Masons Arms is perfect. Walks to the beach, up Beer Head, along the road to the church and up the lanes. The staff was very helpful especially on the odd occasion when we couldn't find a spot to park the car. They always managed to sort it out for us. We can hardly wait to return. Thank you. "
"Had a wonderful stay in the refurbished hotel. Had the most comfortable nights sleep, so much so that we are looking to buy the mattresses they use.
The comfy double was just what we needed. The bathroom didn't look to be refurbished but was fine as it was apart from a leaky shower hose. We were supplied with plenty of drinks to choose from and 2 packets of biscuits.
Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice from the buffet table including home made granola and fresh honey dripping from the honeycomb. There was also plenty of choice from the menu for got food, this was all cooked to order and very tasty.
Thanks for a great stay, we will be back."
"It was good to have parking with the hotel, as some in the area don't have it. By being a walkable distance from the seafront and town, it put us in a more quiet area. "
"The hotel is a very old coaching inn, full of character, and very well maintained. It is well situated for both Sidmouth and the Donkey Sanctuary. The room had a lovely bed, in a fair sized room. The en-suite was very nicely appointed. Our room was facing the road so there was some traffic noise. The food was excellent and the staff were all really attentive and provided a great service. Overall we had a lovely stay at the Blue Ball Inn, Sidmouth. "
