"With all the great reviews, I was expecting it to be immaculate and well maintained. That was not my experience. It was very comfortable and relatively clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Full disclosure, my opinion could be slightly skewed because, for some reason, I thought the place was much closer to Effingham - but it was 45 minutes away adding an extra hour and a half to my trip. But that is NOT the hotel’s fault - I just didn’t check all the details closely enough on Expedia. But still, it was a solid 4."

"Me and my husband have traveled to Shelbyville IN from NWI at least 4 times already this year with several more trips planned this year. All but 1 of those times was spent at Spillway. And one we spent one night elsewhere and moved the second night to Spillway. Spillway is not your fancy hotel. If you want that, look elsewhere. What Spillway is is a family business that provides a comfortable place to stay while not fishing our butt off in the local waterways. I have never had any issues here and everything is always working and clean. No complaints here and when my husband says he wants to go fishing, I always say, “let me see what Spillway has available.” 10 star review if I could! Will always stay here as long as Spillway exists."

"We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Shelbyville! The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was great, and it was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some time together. The property was just as described, and the hosts were great to work with. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the Shelbyville area!"
