Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The hotel is a little too expensive for what it is. Everything is so old, there was a stench in the room and it was quite noisy with the road just outside. The hotel really needs to be renovated.

Our stay was great but it would have been wonderful if the hotel has free WiFi and mini bar fridges in the room
The hotel was extremely dirty. We had spider webs and dozens of bugs in our room and one of the beds had blood on it. The hotel was located in a very unsafe area yet the lobby lacked any security measures.
The hotel needs to be renovated. Still using old lifts and the floors and furniture is old. Carpet is dirty and for people with sinus it was a problem. You also pay a refundable fee to get a room key and a tv remote meaning if you dont have cash you won't play a TV
The description and photos shown on the website are not what you get. The carpets in our room were filthy dirty. The furniture in the passage was equally dirty. There were people sleeping on the couches in the passage outside our room who were coughing and snorting, not sure why they were not sleeping in their rooms. There is no parking offered by the hotel, you need to use a 3rd party parking facility at R70 per day, and not the R25 as per website. Once you have parked on the 3rd level, you need to walk down dirty stairs to the hotel entrance with all your luggage, were people are sleeping, smoking and drinking on the stairs, it feels very unsafe. The homeless people harass you as you walk from the parking to the entrance. We booked for 4 guests, we were only provided with 2 towels, we had to share towels. The room tv is smaller than the smallest computer monitor I have seen, and there is no remote. There is not even a kettle or fridge in the room. The balcony door does not lock, you just need to hope nobody tries to climb up to the balcony and access the room. On checking in we requested reception to open the normal doors so we could get our luggage in, as the revolving doors were too small, our request was just ignored by reception staff. Unless I was absolutely desperate, I would not stay there again. I have stayed in budget accommodation like Sun 1, which was much better than this facility.
