"Location is good, opposite is the ski resort, which has good snow. Overall room was well maintained, public Onsen was nice too. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10am"

"My stay at Wafu-no-Yado Masuya was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Yamanouchi, this ryokan offers a peaceful retreat with authentic Japanese charm. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm hospitality and impeccable service. Their kindness and attentiveness made me feel truly welcome. The rooms are beautifully designed in a traditional Japanese style, complete with tatami mats and futon beds. I especially loved the private outdoor onsen. Dinner was a highlight: a multi-course meal that showcased seasonal ingredients and exquisite presentation. Every bite was a delight, and breakfast was just as satisfying "
