"Just your basic downtown Harrisburg PA hotel, very mid. Nothing went wrong, the front desk staff and valet were professional. It's just an old hotel and not in the classic way. The bathroom was small but was newly remodeled -- that was the best part of the room. Friendly advice -- the thermostat on the hotel water heater could be trimmed at 180F instead of letting it go all the way up to 212F. The hotel restaurant was dim and antiquated, the food and service was acceptable."

"The property was exactly as listed. Extra amenities were great even though we didn't take advantage of them (frig/frrezer were filled with what you would need to have a nice breakfast, wine, beer and cocktail supplies), coffee pods. A plus was not having to worry about linens, towels and trash when we left. The location is great too."

"Was a great stay. Very clean, felt safe. Could use a few more kitchen supplies (maybe a few more plates, bowls, silverware so you don't have to wash items so often). And maybe a few throw blankets or extra blanket for bed (when it's chilly), but very nice place for us. Host responsive. Ended up staying an extra day. A hassle to get date extended through Expedia & VRBO. Host ended up being able to take care of it for us. "

Cozy Home in Historic Harrisburg

"The house and the neighborhood were both historic and interesting. It was conveniently located for everywhere we needed to go and within walking distance of the river foot path, which was a nice bonus. The host was prompt and clear in communication and the check-in process was smooth and easy.There were a handful of small inconveniences related to the house itself that would have made things a four star overall (a clock not working, dining room chairs where the seat wasn't attached to the frame., a floorboard nail that kept catching on socks, a slow draining sink, a bath fan that stopped working, the electronic door lock wouldn't engage when we left). The larger issue that made things a three star stay was the "flexible fourth bedroom." The listing specified an air mattress which would have been fine because we knew that going in. But there were no sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, washcloths, etc. for any guests who might use that room or that bed. Two of our group stayed with family nearby as a result, but other guests might not have the same option. Without those things the listing should be revised to say that the house only sleeps six guests in three bedrooms."
