"Pros- The owners were quick to respond when I had a question. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. The temperature in the home was comfortable. We loved the river being nearby. Cons- Parking was stressful. The parking deck felt unsafe if it was needed after dark. We paid extra for street parking, and it was difficult to catch an empty space later in the afternoons/nights. The neighbors above the empty garage next door were smoking pot on the balcony when we arrived. One night while there, there was screaming, yelling and loud noises in the night/early morning hours coming from them. I take responsibility for not asking BEFORE booking, but the owners would not allow my son to drop by home for an hour or two (not stay) while we were there. We made the trip to see him due to him accepting a paid internship at Hershey Park. We cooked one night, and he could not come in to pick up food. We met him on the street, to give him the dinner to take back to his apartment. We could pay additional fee as if he were staying with us, but due to work schedule, he had limited time to visit us in the home. This home is Not recommended for small kids at all or older adults with knee issues. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow within the home. The outdoor railing is missing from steps leading into the home."

"I was in town for a night and was able to book this property the same week of my trip. I enjoyed my stay and the property was close to everything that I had planned. Felt safe and the property had everything I needed. Would absolutely stay here again. Parking was a little tough, but that should be expected with a city property and parking information is highlighted in the listing. Had to park a block away."

Cozy Home in Historic Harrisburg

"The place was conveniently located and had a lot of space. It was very comfortable for four people to stay and feel like we were not crammed together the entire time. The host was thorough on check in/check out information and we were able to get into the property without additional communication. The beds were very comfortable and bedding was nice. There were some areas that needed attention. The water flow at the kitchen sink was very low and there was no hand soap in the kitchen (only dish soap). The refrigerator was old, but stayed cold once we turned the temperature up. As others have mentioned, seats of several of the chairs in the dining room were not attached to the base and fell off. The knob on the second floor bathroom door is broken/almost feel off and does not lock. The biggest issue was cleanliness. There were dishes in the cabinets that were noticeably dirty and the bedrooms were very dusty on the floors. Our dog got a hold of a piece of chocolate that was under one of the beds. The backyard could use attention, too. The trees were overgrown and it was difficult to walk through. The porch is not screened in and there is a hole that leads to the street so the dog needed to be leashed at all times. Overall I would stay here again because the price was fair and the space was so large, but we just wished things were a little cleaner."
