Good hotel great location, public areas could do with some renovations

A wonderful property. Elegant and luxurious. Full of the charm of an older era but with every modern convenience and comfort of a true 5 star hotel of today. The management and staff were outstanding . Beautiful setting overlooking Funchal and the sea, surrounded by very pretty gardens. A perfect holiday

I absolutely adored my stay. It’s got ideal views, perfect for relaxing. The food for breakfast is great, even had gluten free options. Same went for dinner, I ate some of the best meals of my trip here. Up the stairs outside is the start of one of the best beach trails I’ve ever walked. I can’t recommend highly enough!

The ocean view room was fantastic, perfectly positioned with unobstructed views as far as the eye can see. The hotel and room was very modern with a high end luxury feel. We had dinner at Trapiche on the rooftop, and the food was delicious. Would certainly return

After a big day hiking and sightseeing, we relaxed in the hotel and took in the spectacular view. We had half board so dinner was at the Beer House and it was really good with a great selection on the menu

Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. Housekeeping excellent. It was very comfortable to use the garage, direct access from the garage to the lifts and rooms. I and my wife had a very nice stay.

Hotel service is great. I arrive early morning and they have a room ready for me for early check-in. Excellent.
