"Charming very old style hotel, lots of antiques and mementos, very nice front desk gentleman.
Ocean views unfortunately partly blocked by ugly old factory, maybe just from the rooms in the part where I stayed.
Old building but kept in excellent condition. Several pubs and restaurants within a short walk."
"The property is beautifully situated, but it’s clear that it’s somewhat run down. While the signage is prominent and easy to spot, driving in feels more like entering a large parking lot, with some lanes barricaded off, which creates a less welcoming first impression. We parked across from the lobby entrance near a cabin that appeared to be rented long-term, with personal items on the porch. This added to the overall worn-down feel and made us a bit hesitant at first.
That said, the front desk clerk was lovely and very welcoming, which immediately improved our experience. We had no trouble finding our room. Although the rooms are older, they were clean and well-maintained. The view of the water was absolutely gorgeous and a definite highlight of our stay.
The king-size bed was comfortable, and the oversized pillows were very full. The room was equipped with useful amenities including a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker with coffee provided.
We were pleased to see an EV charging station near our room, but unfortunately, when we checked with the office, we were told it is currently still offline.
Overall, despite some cosmetic and maintenance issues, the location is very convenient—just minutes from everything we were doing. I would consider staying here again."
"This was our second stay at this hotel. Our first experience was so good, returning was a no brainer.
The front desk lady was very lovely for check-in. Our room was updated, but clearly it was a room that previously had pets without adequate cleaning afterward. We had quite a bit of pet hair on our clothing after a couple of hours in the room. Thank goodness none of us have pet allergies!
We needed help a few times for simple things (only two towels in the room despite booking for four of us, request for more tea, etc) and the staff were very helpful. One of the times we went to the desk for help, we couldn’t understand the attendant at all despite her friendliness. Might be good to have staff with stronger English language skills on the desk. We did eventually get the help we needed, and she was super sweet. We just had trouble understanding each other.
The property needs a thorough clean. There was trash blown all over the green space of the property. We understand that renovations are currently underway, but the trash was mainly from housekeeping and chunks of styrofoam. Not great near the ocean.
The pub was great, and the young waitress we had was incredibly friendly and good at her job.
We enjoyed board games in the lounge both evenings. We enjoyed the live music that filtered our way from the pub the second night.
We will go back again for sure, but not at high season, as the price point would be too high considering the experience we had this time around.

"Great place overall - good room, breakfast, pool & hottub. Staff was esp friendly with Ashley at front desk going extra mile for our reservation change & the chipper chap in the morning "
