We booked the family room, we were very happy! With two teenagers, it’s sometimes hard to find a room suitable. Our room was huge and both children had their own spaces, worked perfectly for us! Also lovely to have dinner and breakfast next door, food was very good!

Welcome and good value for money

Friendly welcome, spacious clean room with a comfortable bed. Food in the bar was okay for a chain pub and the ale well looked after. Will stay here again if in the area

Overall the accommodation is very good, the only criticism I would have is with the food portions. There has been a noticeable reduction in portion size over the past couple of years, which is a real shame as value for money in the restaurant was previously excellent

Comfortable but some early morning traffic noise

The rooms of the guest house were comfortable and the pub served good food (although the portions seem to have shrunk in recent times) The only general criticism would be the noise from the road outside, traffic is fairly constant through the night and picks early in the morning. Not a problem if you're leaving early but not ideal if you were hoping for a more leisurely start to the day

Weekend in Swarkestone

Quiet comfortable room. Good size bathroom with bath but dreadful draught from large hole under basin!! Polite, friendly staff. Useful bus stop outside with direct bus to / from Derby city centre.

Hotel by a river

Just lovely place to stay, there is a lovely river walk. We booked as we going to Donington Park and it was so easy to get there about 11 minutes.
