"Travelers should beware that Otsego Resort's front desk closes early, like 5 pm, even in the summer. I and my family were arriving late, so I called ahead, before 5 pm, to let them know of my late arrival. I had to leave a message, and no one called me back. When we arrived a little before 10 pm the doors were locked and the lights off. We had to find accomodations elsewhere. When I called the next day, the attendant at the front desk apologized profusely and promised to give me a refund. There was a problem with my card, but she persisted until I did get a refund. I give her 5 stars, but for travelers who might be arriving late it's best to seek lodging elsewhere."

Hike, Fish & Unwind: Riverfront Vanderbilt Cabin

"What a place! When setting the reservation for the cabin, I didn't realize the property is so much more. The "River Cabin", the home base and lodging for my buddy and me for our fly fishing excursion, was historic, comfortable, a rustic beauty that had the modern amenities (i.e. internet, air conditioning, nice kitchen, awesome porch, deck with grill, etc.) we needed, and overlooked a classic meadow that bordered a beautiful stream. Surprisingly, however, the entire property, quiet and private, also contained 5 additional beautiful log cabins, from what I understand, all available for reservation! I could envision a family reunion here, or a group of close friends renting each and every one, to enjoy their own private, natural setting, in a beautiful region of a beautiful State, Michigan. I would be remiss if I did not say some words about the owner. Harold was a gentleman and a great host. He was responsive, conscientious, respectful of your privacy, and a downright good person. Thank you for your hospitality, Harold. I will definitely be back."

"We had a wonderful family reunion! We chose this cabin because it’s close in proximity to the family cabin on a nearby lake but found that we gravitated here on the big deck for many shared BBQ meals! We rented a pontoon boat for multiple days and really enjoyed the lake access area. Quick 1 min drive! We could easily load /unload passengers from the sandy beach or docked alongside the seawall. The fire pit area had firewood ready, lots of chairs and surrounded by tall trees! We wished it had a bit more of larger cookware- pots and a cookie sheet but we made it work. Slow cooker was a plus after all day boating! NO AC as described but only had 2 nights of high temps perhaps more fans upstairs. Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with."
