"The hotel location is great. We had a balcony room which had a killer view. While the staff was great and I did appreciate things like storing luggage after checkout so we could explore downtown, the hotel could definitely use some improvements. Maybe it was just age with some things and the hotel is due for some updating, other things were just lack of cleaning. Dusty areas in the room. Crusty brown dried coffee in spots of the mini fridge/coffee maker area. Showers that could use a little more scrubbing. White film around sink faucets. The pool area definitely needed a refresh. Most of that could be a management thing though and not proper procedures and checks being done. With the the hotels in the area that popping up being so nice, they definitely need to step it up especially with such a killer location. My child did however enjoy herself and the location made it an easy trip to get around the city."

"River St Inn was all it promised. Historical building, beautiful rooms, spacious, clean as could be everywhere, and exceptionally welcoming. If I go to Savannah again, I'll definitely stay there."

"Went there for pool and pull was closed. The pool area was not nice. Paid for balcony room and couldn't go on balcony. No chairs etc. Some of the staff was excellent others were not friendly at all. "

"This was our first time in Savannah, and we wanted to be in the Historic District so that we could walk everywhere for our only full day in the city. We try to travel on a budget, and Planters is a relatively inexpensive non-chain option with nice reviews. I chose the most basic room- no balcony, no view, ended up by the elevator- you get the idea. We stayed 2 nights and were pretty much in our room only to shower, rest, or sleep. I’d say our stay in Room 503 was adequate to good at best. Pros: Property is affordable and quaint, in a perfect location, and impeccably clean. Staff were friendly enough with one standout— Carl greeted us outside as we pulled up at check-in and went out of his way to be kind and helpful. He even pointed out a parking spot on the street just steps from the hotel where we left our car for the entire 30-odd hours of our stay (street parking is free on Sundays) costing us only about $6 total! Cons: The room could use refreshing— stained blind on the bathroom window that didn’t go all the way to the sill so that I could see people in the parking garage while I was on the toilet, as well as the stained carpet and faded paint made the room look run down. Towels not very soft. Sink area is tiny. “Antique” queen bed was lovely to look at, but for me the mattress was too soft and made an annoying sound anytime my husband or I turned over. Pillows not very comfy either. LOTS of noise from HVAC system, parking garage, and hallway by elevator. "
