About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Dahlonega Chalet on the Chestatee River. Very private and family friendly.
Chalet located directly on the Chestatee River. Located within 6 miles of downtown Dahlonega and 18 miles from Helen Georgia, which offer various dining and entertaining options. Within a few miles of local wineries, vineyards, breweries and wedding venues. Nearby activities include hiking, water sports, fishing, horseback riding, golf, mountain biking, gold prospecting, local zoos, Vogel State Park, Blood Mountain and much more. Exterior security cameras for your safety. The property will be decorated for the holidays.
Never lose power. The whole property is powered by a Generac generator.
This is not an event facility. Use of property for weddings, showers, receptions, parties or any event consisting of additional guests is strictly prohibited unless prior approval is given. No more than 6 adults and 5 children permitted, strictly enforced. Unless late check out is approved, there will be a $20 charge for every 15 minutes past the check out time.
Parking pad accommodates 4 vehicles, no additional vehicles allowed and no parking on the grass. The driveway is actually a road. It cannot be blocked. During your stay some vehicles may drive through as well as minimal pedestrian traffic. Gps sometimes takes you on a detour especially when using Waze. When you turn on Lewis Grindle, the road will turn into a bumpy gravel road. You will continue straight until you see our sign and a concrete driveway on the right. Gps sometimes tries to have you turn on Lunceford Circle before our driveway, this is incorrect and will send you to other side of our property.
Lumpkin County allows shooting of firearms during daytime and night time hours. From time to time shooting can be heard from our property. Shooting firearms for any use other than self defense is prohibited at our property.
Lewis Grindle is the road that leads to our property. It is a private road and usually in disrepair. We try our hardest to keep it smooth, but it is a rough ride. 3 other vacation rentals, delivery trucks, mail service and residents use the road daily without any issues. We do not recommend low vehicles.

We loved our pre-Christmas get away to Dahlonega. Our family enjoyed some time in the hot tub, some fishing in the river, a sitting by the fire pit, and just relaxing. We spent our days in town and our nights playing games and doing puzzles. One night we even had a visit from a very friendly little deer. It was a great way to unwind before the 25th.
All of the above!! What a beautiful, serene place to rest and relax. Location is convenient to anything you might need as well! Lisa is a great hostess !!! Can’t wait to go back!!
We had the best time at this adorable property. It was perfect for our girl trip weekend. It’s open and airy, nice sized bedrooms, peaceful scenery, beautifully decorated, and very clean. We loved being right on the river and would definitely go back.
My family had a wonderful weekend stay at this chalet overlooking the river! The home was very cozy and equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of towels, kitchen ware & appliances, cozy blankets, games and puzzles. We enjoyed fishing, hanging out by the river, using the hot tub, reading and playing games. My teenage girls loved the waterfall area and we spent a good amount of time relaxing there. We ate dinner in Dahlonega at Public House. We went hiking and fishing at nearby DeSoto Falls and it was lovely. The road to the chalet is pretty bumpy & long so be prepared for that. Other than that, it’s a great weekend getaway!
This was a much needed short vacation for the whole family. My elderly Nana enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxing view from the deck looking out into the river. My kids along with myself, husband and other family were able to enjoy unplugging from our busy job demanding lives. We enjoyed just casting a line. Grilling and hanging out by the fire.as well as a dip in the hot tub to end the night.
Lisa communicated well and was very hospitable. She even offered an amenity that wasn’t listed so we could see the neighboring waterfalls. I will say that when you turn onto the gravel road you might say, “uh….,” but just wait until you enter the home. Clean and immaculate and possibly a bit better than the pictures!Lisa had all the amenities you could probably want for a property like this… she even had multiple pillow selections! Something that my wife truly appreciated.Wineries are very close with Doghobble being amazing and nearby. Be sure to check out the empanadas!!The only negative comment I would say, which is something one would have to accept being so remote, is the television kept buffering about every 15 minutes into a show or movie. Probably weak WiFi.Be sure to step outside late at night and glance up at the stars during clear nights. Truly amazing… just like the house!
We enjoyed our stay! The home is very clean and just a short drive to Dahlonega which is so festive this time of year. It is a beautiful home and very private. The hot tub was great. The homeowner was quick to answer any questions we had. We will definitely consider staying there again when in Dahlonega.
Lisa was so kind to share this wonderful place with us. She went above and beyond in her suggestions and communication. We went with a bunch of young kids and she gave us some great recommendations that were personal, and her place was a great fit for our family. She was understanding about any of the concerns or issues we faced, and was very quick to respond. If you want a quiet secluded place, this is for you!
The cabin was just as described, it was very clean and cozy! We took a last minute family getaway before the school year starts and made some great memories! I couldn’t have gotten the kids away from the river if I wanted to and getting them away from electronics these days is no easy feat. The owners reached out with some additional info about the property that really made our short stay memorable, I would recommend this location to anyone!
We had such a great time! The home is beautiful! The setting is perfection. My children and teens actually played outside! We used the rope swing and the fire pit and the fireplace and the hot tub, and the kayaks! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. The host was so very quick to communicate and was so very kind! We hope to visit again!
The most attentive and proactive host. Before and during our stay Lisa was the ultimate host who addresses our every question and need. We were celebrating my to mother's 86th with a small group of extended family and I wanted something memorable and today property delivered. Everyone felt at home and we enjoyed the privacy anger hospitality. From our expensive view of the Chestatee we enjoyed the rain, the bald eagle sighting, and the dozen wild turkey feeding one early morning. If only every rental experience and host meet expectations like Lisa did for us - thank you!
The house was beautiful, very clean and came with all the amenities of home! Our kids loved canoeing on the river, swinging on the rope swing and s’mores at the fire pit. We enjoyed wine on the deck overlooking the river and nights in the jacuzzi. Wonderful way to get away from the stresses of life and our host was incredible. We were able to check in early as well as check out late without any hassle and we received a response minutes after every question! I can’t say enough great things about the property and host!
The cabin is amazing! Fullly stocked kitchen and bath. If you like to cook, youll have the utensils & equipment. The cabin was clean and check in easy. The creek is your back yard! We loved watching the kayakers go by. The hot tub was a nice option for the cooler evenings. The road to get there is definitely rual. It rained one day and it was iffy on the drive out. Our SUV did the job, we doubt our car would of made it. If are looking for mountain get-a-way- like we were- this is the place for peacefulness. We plan to be back.
Our family truly enjoyed this lovely home & property. It is well appointed with some smart design features. The hosts are attentive and quick to answer questions and provide guidance.
With 4 generations of family, we had some special needs / questions. The hosts answered every one of them in a timely and honest manner.
We loved the open layout of the family / dining / kitchen area. We could all be in there together, without feeling cramped -- but also doing different activities -- someone is cooking while kids doing crafts at the table, and others catching a ball game.. The dog slept in the nook to the side of the couch -- out of the way, but close by. The porches are fantastic, and the wall of windows facing the porch / river brought the outside in.
The main floor, wrap-around porch, and parking are all one level, which was great for the seniors. They could observe all of the family activities without all of the steps. We liked the full over full bunk beds WITH a trundle. With younger kids, this was the perfect way to give them space while also having them just outside the mater bedroom upstairs. Eveyone said that their beds were comfortable.
We spent most of our 3 night stay at the house. We enjoyed sitting in various areas. Taking little hikes. Some even tried kayaking and canoeing and were proud that it was easier than expected! The jacuzzi was part of the evening ritual. We did also venture out to a nearby winery and enjoyed it.
