Lakeside Isbell Cottage and Isbellita Guest Cottage

"Mary was an excellent host, who responded quickly with helpful information on both our arrival and departure. Pull in the driveway and you are able to park 3 cars easily behind the house, with a separate exit that continues on around the other side of the house. The private beach is across the road, through two hedges. The dock is sturdy, the beach is sandy, the water is shallow and there are good chairs for relaxing by the water. There is a general store about 100 yards up the road where you can purchase most things, including breakfast/sandwiches to go. The large cottage is quirky, yet comfortable, as might be expected in an older house. We happened to be there during some very hot days and while there were fans in the larger cottage, they did little to reduce the heat at night, especially on the second floor. We did not locate a fan in the small cottage, but it did have ceiling fans and we brought a fan over from the large cottage to help. The small cottage was actually cooler than the large cottage as it only had one floor.We enjoyed our time at Isabell Cottage and Isbellita Guest Cottages on Lake Willoughby. Thank you, Mary!"

"The house was awesome, but it was not very clean when we arrived so I spent the first couple of hours cleaning. I washed some of the bedding myself and wiped down the kitchen and bathroom before we used them - there were hairs and muddy splash marks in the shower. The host had assured me the kitchen was equipped with everything I would need to cook meals, but the nonstick cookware was so old and scratched I did not want to use it. When I contacted the host to let him know, he just said nobody had ever complained about the clealiness before. He directed me to a mixing bowl elsewhere in the house that had dirt in the bottom. Overall, the house suited my family's needs, but it was not clean."

"What a great place to stay. Owner Joesph and his nephew Jay greeted me at the front desk. Offered to help me with bags to my room. Took me to my room to make sure everything was good. Room was clean and well appointed. The onsite tavern was top notch with a bunch of locals. Lots of beer and great food. Book here and you won’t be disappointed. Gas station across street for quick fill up before getting on the road."

"I absolutely loved my stay at this sweet little tiny house in Vermont! I was traveling on my own to visit my sister, and this was the perfect place to come back to at the end of the day. It was super clean, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I could possibly need. I felt instantly relaxed and completely at home there. The hosts were especially kind and welcoming, and their thoughtfulness made the stay feel even more special. It was such a peaceful and relaxing little getaway, and I honestly didn’t want to leave! I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely love to come back again with my husband."

"Host was very responsive when texting about a couple concerns. The grounds could have been better maintained as well. But, we enjoyed weeding the fire pit :) The house was very conveniently located. The listing reported garage parking and a few other things that were not accurate, but also didn't affect our stay. Will stay here again!!"
