"Apartment was a little dated and tired, but generously sized, clean and well equipped. Staff very helpful and courteous. Parking space was limited and not always possible to park close to the door. Breakfast was good. Swimming pool was convenient and quiet and much appreciated as weather was exceptionally hot. Hotel was ideally placed to use as a base when touring the area."

Special thanks to Pauline at reception for her enthusiastic and thoughtful introduction to the property. "Our stay at this property was very disappointing. The room and bathroom were spacious and well appointed, but the flies in the room were hard the get rid of the first day. Then, when we came back to the room after dinner the second night, there was a lizard crawling up the wall. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but the service was abominable! The staff needs serious training on how to be polite and to make guests feel welcomed. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation and noone even spoke to us for 30 minutes after we were seated. They did not give us a menu until 8:10. We found all of this unacceptable for a Michelin starred restaurant! The breakfast buffet was mediocre and meal on the lovely patio was marred by the sounds of screaming children on the playgrounds of the schools that abutted the property on each side. This hotel and spa failed miserably as a relaxing retreat."

"This hotel is stunningly set in the countryside on spectacularly beautiful grounds. Staff is excellent and helpful. Breakfast was to die for with some of the best croissants I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant was very good indeed, and there are excellent alternatives ten minutes away in St-Saturnin-les-Apts as well. The place has a very calming ambience that we loved. Our villa was Amoureaux, a very interestingly decorated place. It is, however, not a practical place to stay (though the bed was very comfortable), ESPECIALLY if you have any mobility issues. The bedroom is upstairs while the toilet is downstairs. In between the two are a set of hair-raising steep bare concrete stairs without any railings that have danger written all over them. The point of this review is not to dissuade you from staying at this property- we would return again in a heartbeat- it is indeed spectacular. If you simply book any other villa besides this one, we can guarantee a very pleasant stay- just not Amoureaux."
