"This hotel has gone through a major renewal over the past 10+ years. I lived in Grantown-on-Spey for over a decade and I have seen this hotel at its absolute worst. It is now an absolute gem of a local hotel. Conveniently located in the center of the Scottish Highlands making day trips to 4 corners of Scotland quite doable. I know, I have done it!! The breakfast is beautifully Scottish. Well worth starting your day off with a full Scottish breakfast. After a day out being an accidental tourist cause you took a wrong turn and ended up in some cool tiny village that you can’t even pronounce its name for amazing fish and chips and cool locally produced art. You can come back for a meat pie and a pint and enjoy all photos you took while being an accidental tourist. Never lost, just accidental tourism. "

"A very pleasant clean and tidy hotel superbly situated overlooking the links of Lossiemouth Golf Club and the Moray Firth beyond. Breakfast and evening meal were both sampled with tasty, good size portions served by a friendly and helpful staff. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of local products. I would definitely stay here again. "

"I was visiting Forres for a work event and needed a hotel nearby. The Carlton was lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; check in was a breeze. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you needed. The bed was excellent and very comfy. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent hotel which is great value for money."

"The property is a gem and great choice for our stay in the Speyside area. Parking is available right across the street, and the hotel is within 10-15 mins drive from a number of distilleries and the Speyside cooperage. Staff are very friendly and we had an amazing time during our stay. The hotel restaurant and bar were great options (although plan a good amount of time as service may take a bit longer) - do check out the Spirit Safe if you're a whisky fan! The property is full of character. The room is clean and bed is very comfortable. Highly recommended! "

"Jodie is a friendly, hospitable host. Their family property is a beautiful, comfortable establishment. It is quiet, incredibly clean and well kept. The morning breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone to stay at Craigellachie. If you are wanting an evening meal, go down the hill to the pub. Also delicious and very affordable.
