Great Escape to Convene with Friends & Family w/ Hot Tub & Many Decks

Connect with friends and family while sipping coffee on the porch and watching for deer, wild turkeys or humming birds. Share some of the fruits of our garden and cook in the fully equipped kitchen or grill on the porch after hiking, touring or just hanging out in hammock. Play air hockey in the attic or games or do a puzzle. Later, warm up by the wood stove, with a glass of wine or a book, get the chill out in the hot tub or roast s'mores in the fire pit in the garden and see more stars than you ever have. There are so many choices. . .

Historic Dutch colonial home located 2 doors from the Stone Church situated on 2+ acres of lawn with native species gardens, a firepit and a hot tub that seats 6. There is separate garage and an unobtrusive tenant over the garage that you will rarely see.

Near wine trails, hiking trails and Sam's Point Preserve. 45 minutes to New Paltz, 10 minutes to Ellenville or Pine Bush for shopping or dining.

Ideal for relaxation, family time and visits with good friends.

Beautiful fall foliage with many hiking choices at your doorstep -- later you can retire . . .by the fire or warm up in the hot tub.

If you want to see the stars at night like you can reach out and touch them, if you want a place that is so quiet you can hear the birds breathing, if you want walk a hundred feet to the edge of the mountain, sit beside a 130 year old church and drink your coffee while looking at the beautiful foliage, if you want to see the deer and the foxes or an occasional bear (harmless) then this is the place for you. Make a fire at night in the pit or inside in the wood stove... grab your beverage of preference and relax... you may not even see a car drive by all day.

The house is beautiful and full of character that takes years of living and care to create. The deck in the back was breathtaking. The location--a short walk to The Stone Church, a short drive to hiking, to a state park with ice caves, to Ellenville--was excellent. Everything from utensils to games to staple items and towels was extremely well marked and well stocked. We loved our time at this home. This house was a wonderful temporary home for our family reunion. The matriach of our family grew up at her family's hotel just outside of Ellenville: until this visit, she had not spent significant time in the area since the 1960's. Being back was special for her, and for all of us. Thank you.
Looking out from the Stone Church.

Awesome House for a group

This place was fantastic and comfortable for our group of (adult) students who were attending a program locally in Cragsmoor. Diane had thorough instructions for everything in the house--the only hiccup was the checkin (somehow we never received the door code) but Diane was responsive on the phone and helped us right away.

Family Mountain Escape

The property was nestled away in quiet Cragsmoor with easy access to hiking and other towns. The outdoor decks were a huge plus to this property, especially the side deck that offered shade in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee. The kitchen and bathrooms were generally stocked. We would definitely stay here again!

Location, location, location! Beautiful and quiet area. The host was communicative and kept us well educated throughout our stay. She is very generous with supplies. My 4 star rating on cleanliness is only for the many items already in the home. We did not have closet space to hang items in the already small closets because they were full. It would not been an issue but we had a lot of clothes since we were in a wedding party. The home was clean but a bit cluttered for my taste but this home is divided between being rented and lived in, so i get it. The home is very charming and hardwood floors throughout. If you want quiet and on top of a mountain, with wonderful places to walk and enjoy peace, this is for you! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Diane for everything!

Just passing through

The location is isolated yet well worth the drive. Quiet and scenic. The house is unique, wonderfully squeaky floors which brought me back to childhood homes of my grandparents.

Quiet, private, and comfortable

I spent a weekend here with four friends looking to relax and unwind. We found the house extremely welcoming and comfortable, and we could have spent all day on the beautiful deck! Very spacious and stocked with everything you might need. We would definitely return.

The house was beautiful!

Our group loved the house. Slept 11 of us comfortably and we hosted a small baby shower there as well. The hot tub was perfect for the -3 degree weather we had one night. The wood stove kept the downstairs comfortable. We had trouble with the heat upstairs but it was not a major issue and we let Diane know. Overall great stay!

Everything you could ever ask for..............

This house was exactly what we were looking for, an escape from the hustle and bustle. The home and yard is beautiful and perfectly maintained. The deck is simply fabulous, with plenty of room for our entire family. This house is not just a house. It is a home and it has such a lovely warm feeling. The kitchen is stocked with supplies (we loved the pro waffle maker) and everything in the house is top quality. The owner was so receptive and answered all of our questions. We hope to return soon - so sad to leave.

Tranquil and comfy

We had such a wonderful time! The house had plenty of space and was very comfortable. The decks, garden and view were amazing! We loved the overlook at the Old Stone Church down the the road and the Sam's Point Overlook hike nearby with its breathtaking views. We made fires in the firepit and enjoyed smores with the kids, snuggled and read by the wood stove, chilled in the hot tub. The whole stay was so tranquil and relaxing. Our host was very responsive and helpful. The only challenge we had was regulating the water in the shower which kept alternating between hot and cold, but that didnt detract from our stay. We really enjoyed our stay! (The house feels like someone's home so for those that prefer a vacation rental not feel lived in, this might not be the place for you and for those who like a place that feels homey, this is the place. We traveled with 3 kids ages 3.5- 9 and had a great time but could see the house being stressful if traveling with toddlers since there are decorative items that are breakable around the house that are within reach of little hands.)

Magical Weekend

I cannot even begin to describe the magic that Blue Heaven holds. My friends and I had an amazing weekend away celebrating my birthday! The house, the record player, the living room, the kitchen... all of those factors work well for socializing and relaxing. The house is spacious and comfortably accommodated all of us with sleeping arrangements. It is impeccably clean and has amenities for any season. That's one of my favorite things about Blue Heaven. During the fall and spring, the bonfire outside would be excellent to sit around... it seats so many and the stars you can see at night... wow. During the winter, the indoor fireplace and hot tub keep you warm. We were there in winter and with snow on the ground but warm temperatures during the day... it couldn't have been much better :) The surrounding area is a dream to hike in. We were in utter awe at the beautiful trains and crags and just... everything. Further, the home is classy and comfortable and it's owners are a delight to deal with. I learned about the development of the home by reading the books on the coffee table and it was such a pleasure to read and see how the house looks during all seasons. The garden in the summer...wow. I recommend this without hesitation and I will be back!

Beautiful Getaway

There was very little to complain about with this house. On the top of a small mountain, it is about a minute walk from a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. With a hot tub, fire pit, and air hockey table, there is plenty to do in between activities. There is more than enough sleeping space in this home. It has 5 bedrooms of varying size, and two twin beds and a futon on the third floor. Because of this, the price point is fairly high, especially on holiday weekends, but is not bad if you have enough people to fill all the beds and the price is spread among them. The yard is huge, both front and back. There is a fire pit as well with a flower garden and terrace surrounding it. The garden was a bit overgrown, so we could only sit on half of the benches around the pit, but there was still enough room for our entire party. The overgrown garden would be my only complaint, if I had to have one. There was more than enough firewood to use for both the fire outside, as well as the wood stove inside. We even saw a few deer, and even a friendly dog from next door during our stay. There is a tenant that lives above the garage, but we barely saw him. The times that we did see him, he was extremely nice and helpful. He told us of the nearest Walmart when we inquired about finding bathing suits. Otherwise, you barely will notice he is there. There are activities to do in Middletown and Ellenville, both of which are ~30 minutes away. There is also plenty of outdoor activities to do, which is all in the binder they have in the living room. There is also a strip of wineries not too far away, which have cheap wine tastings. I would recommend this to any big families/parties that would like to be in the woods on vacation.

We loved our stay here! The house is as advertised if not better. We had 9 guests and could comfortably fit all into beds, in the living room, and at the dining room table. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances work smoothly. Diane did a great job of providing clear, fulsome instructions to use everything. Neighborhood is great and there are fun things to do nearby. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Short stay on the mountain!

We had a local family reunion and 9 of stayed at the house! Plenty of room. Comfy beds, and plenty of charm. Honestly we were only awake at the house for 1 hour Friday, 1 hour Saturday and 45 mins Sunday otherwise we were at the reunion in Otisville. So wish we could have enjoyed the property more.
