Overall, El Cid was a great place for the $.
I would stay there again.
Most rooms have great ocean view.
Grounds were clean.
Location is great.
Bed was comfy.
Room was nice.
Maids were great.
FYI, We did not do the all inclusive, we ate off property.
This is a cruise ship day pass resort.
Some of the employees ,not all, seemed like they didn't want to help if you needed something. They won't get help if they need it.
There definitely is an attitude with a few employees in the restaurant.
It seems like some use the language barrier to not help by not understanding you.
They would get annoyed if you persisted in a request that they didn't want to perform. For example, I requested an ice bucket for our few extra drinks that we had bought at pool bar, I had seen ice buckets in use while we were on the patio. I asked the waitress for an ice bucket, first she acted as not understand me. After much back and forth with the waitress being adamant that they didn't have ice buckets. I finally asked her to ask the manager. At this point I was wondering why such a hassle to get an ice bucket, as the August sun and heat was off the charts and our drinks were warming as we held them. The waitress came back with a bucket full of ice in minutes.
Not all Americans are jerks and please do not treat all of us like we are, treat us with respect, just as I try very hard to treat all Mexicans with respect.
