Great property, fab. views but away ftom shops and eateries
Very nice property, comfortable with very well appointed kitchen with plenty of kitchen items One bedtoom has queen plus 2 singles.Singles are bunks ok for kids but adults might struggle with ladder almost in middle.No shops or eateries nearby so need to drive 15km to Stanley or 20km to Smithton

We booked for 3 nights at Stanley View Beach House last October and paid well in advance. We also received information for where the keys were 3 days before we left NZ. We were forced to endure a double booking which resulted in tremendous inconvenience (we are in our 80’s). It was extremely disappointing as this was the only 3 night stay and was to be the highlight of our holiday. After 8 hours on the road from Hobart (including major roadworks) we found people in our booked accommodation. The owner had attempted to get in touch at 10.30 but we had no wi-fi or roaming facilities. We spoke to owner on phone and he advised us he had double booked that night and would refund 1 nights accommodation and place us in an alternative sight free of charge. A situation such as this should not have occurred in this day and age. We had to unpack all our groceries etc. and next day pack them up again and be out by 10 and then hang around for 4 hours (5 with all the packing) until our accomodation was available.

Quiet and restful
Outstanding views of Stanley and The Nut, warm and cozy but a large home with two bathrooms and very well equipped kitchen. Fire pot on north facing deck is brilliant. Have stayed before and will return.

Wonderful property, so homely , styled and furnished . Crisp clean linen , amazing bathrooms .
STANLEY VIEW, is an amazing property, right on the shoreline of Bass Straight and looking right across to Stanley . Beautifully clean and presented , every little detail taken care of. We also took our dogs who equally had a wonderful holiday , plenty of beach walks on your doorstep. A fantastic place to stay and make a base whilst exploring the North West Coast of Tasmania. We will be back over summer to enjoy again .

Wow what a location
A fantastic beach shack, the house was warm all day from the north facing windows. no need for extra heating. Of a night a lovely fire on the deck overlooking Bass Strait. The Master bedroom and bathroom were very well appointed. Great area for the dogs, plenty of walking on the rocks and beaches. Would definately stay again.

Thank God for the view
North west tasmania for the cleanest air in the world! Arrived to be surrounded by obnoxious fumes eminating from a nearby pellet plant. Wind did change direction the following day but the damage had been done. Entered house to the overpowering scent from not one but 3 room deoderisers. What smell was being masked - dead mouse?. Deoderisers ended up outside. House itself was adequate 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Kitchen needs updating. No dishwasher! Notices to say that the water had to be boiled for one minute to be drinkable! Electric blanket, almost obligatory for a tassie winter, just on one of the beds - not mine!!

Thanks Coral, yes it’s rare to have the breeze from that exact direction. The rain water is fine to drink, it’s just Tasmanian Council requirements for all BNBs that are not on town water to provide the ‘ boil before drinking’ sighn. There are no mouse smells. Glad you loved the view, Stanley View Beach House must be just one of a handful of self contained cottages just four meters from the water, and North Facing. We will purchase extra electric blankets this week :) Thanks again, Michael and Grace :)

A slice of heaven.

We keep coming back
We have stayed at this property multiple times and always enjoy our stay. It's always interesting to see what property improvements Michael has made between visits! The new windows in the lounge provide a spectacular view! We visited with our two small dogs so appreciated the secure back yard and the dogs absolutely loved the beach.

An exceptional spot on the water, couldn't ask for a better view! Close proximity to a variety of towns and experiences. Well equipped and spacious. Suits families of all ages, being right on a small, private beach was beautiful.

Really nice getaway
Really nice getaway. Very quiet (factory excepted) and lovely to walk out on the little beaches with the dog. Meeting the echidna a bonus but you’ll have to ask the echidna his opinion on that. Fully equipped house with everything you could want, and comfortable. Best eating out: Stanley Hotel 👌

such a lovely relaxing house on the water, warm & inviting with magic views. We visited a lot of old haunts & even found the amazing Trowutta Arch...so worth seeing! Thankyou for sharing your little piece of heaven & allowing the furbabies to accompany us,they sure did love the beach. The house has everything you will ever need but maybe new lounge chairs will need to go on the Xmas wishlist as they hold you hostage once you are in...lol

Million Dollar View
Modern, comfortable, clean and well maintained. This property provides a fantastic view of the Stanley bay area. With great highlights like the "Nut", "Dip Falls" and "The Big Tree" to visit within a short travelling time. Our family were comfortable kept and our dogs were welcome, making this our idea of a paradise weekend away from the bustle of city life. Thanks to all and keep it going.

Wonderful & Relaxing
Renting this property was so easy and communications with the owner was great. It was so clean and the kitchen incredibly well stocked with appliances and kitchen ware to cook up whatever you wanted. The most spectacular part was the view. It's breathtaking. We spent the weekend being totally soothed by the ocean right at our door! My only negative comments would be that the bed in the master suite was to hard for my liking but that really comes down to personal preferences and some of the furniture was a bit old (lounge suite). Having said that we would definitely go back again.

A place to enjoy the raw, natural beauty of Tasmania
It was a pleasure to relax in this comfortable, fully self -contained house, marvelling over the sea view, listening to the crashing waves, watching the sea birds and breathing in the fresh salty air. The surrounding shoreline gave testimony to the natural, raw beauty Tasmania is well known for. The house itself was very clean and obviously rich with history and well - loved. Breathtaking views and great house
We were lucky enough to spend a week here over Christmas with our dog Indy. Whilst the house is of an older style it was immaculate and very comfortable. The deck is amazing with stunning views. Everything you could possibly need was supplied. A secure yard out the back for Indy was a nice surprise and we loved taking her for a daily swim at the beach 80 metres away. We are definitely looking forward to our next stay here.

Location is fab as totally waterfront. The deck is amazing and well set up with open fire and heaps of seating and so much space We were only 2 with our 2 dogs but it would also suit large family or group.

Our party of 5 elderly ladies found the 2 night stay at Cowrie Point comfortable, but the property is quite a distance from Stanley which we did not realise when booking. We were unable to work the DVD player which was unfortunate but we were happy to watch the amazing ocean views from the lounge room and the huge deck.

Phenomenal view, gives rise to much pondering and relaxation
We had a thoroughly relaxing time away here, if only it lasted longer! The shack has everything you could need and I think the host has been very thoughtful with what they’ve provided. We spent a good deal of our time looking out over the water and pondering. Which gave rise to many interesting discussions about tides and birds and sea life. It’s so glorious to wake up with the ocean at your feet and to fall asleep with that lovely sound in your ears. It’s beautiful here. We will definitely be back.

Absolute Bliss
Loved our short stay at the beach house. Tranquil and the best environment just to relax. Close to Stanley and the Tarkine loop. Perfect for a stroll along the beach or to sit and watch the ocean with the pot belly ablaze for those chilly nights. Accommodated our group of 6 adults well but would also be great for families. The house is large and loads of space for everyone. Feels very lived in and you can feel the fun families would have had over the many years. Would certainly stay here again if we are back this way.

House is very well equiped. Main bedroom and en-suite were lovely and new but the remaining dated.
Would be a good stay for large family. Kitchen well equiped. Bottom entry door lock is very old and hard to open. All towels and bedding is very nice.

Loved it.
We have stayed here a few times over the last few years. Every time we stay it is better than before. So relaxing sitting outside of a night watching the sun set. The new bathroom is great........the view is beautiful. My only complaint.................the killer recliner chairs in the lounge room. Hubby went to enjoy a bath.............so I decided to recline in the arm chair and enjoy watching a bit of TV. Only problem...............I decided I wanted a drink. I couldn't get out of the darn chair............it wouldn't go back into position. I had to do a double somersault with a twist in the pike position to get out.............so glad no one got to see that.............it was not pretty. Ruth and Andrew

First class improvements made to most of the property, still lots to do. One bedroom has sealed window and no view or air! Entry shabby and very steep staircase. And you cannot ignore iron ore loader. However it is very roomy and well provisioned and the "Stanley View" is spectacular. However we found the HomeAway agent to be appalling in every way. Like talking to a computer on 24 hour delay. No help at all. Contact Michael Whish-Wilson direct. Just google him, his number comes up

Lovely beach house for a couple or family
The house has a large living area with wonderful views right on the ocean. Bring your food etc with you as there are no corner shops at Cowrie Pt. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment and two fridges. The stairs might be a challenge for some people. We loved the fire on the verandah and rambling over the rocks near the water. We were comfortably warm inside during some very cold evenings. It was a very relaxing place to stay.

One of the best locations inTasmania
This property has so much family history that it is an absolute priveldge to be able to stay there. We arrived and shortly after was contacted by the owner informing us that there will be strong winds overnight. He wasn’t wrong!. We were able to see the storm from the best vantage point whilst remaining warm and cosy inside. The house has everything you possibly need. Just bring your food, wine and even your pooch. Wonderful place and we will be back for sure.

We stayed for three nights in midwinter. The house was cosy and warm and we were able to bask in the afternoon sun on the deck. Loved watching the sun set and tide flowing in and out.
