Mannings Hotel

"Hotel is lovely , staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast? Saturday morning breakfast between 7.30-9.30 am, which is fine , only when we came in to have breakfast the wait was five minutes to be seated , no hot water no coffee , then told they were clearing the buffet away in 5 minutes people were still coming in for breakfast at the dead line 9.30 am , but they were packing away the food ??? Usually 9.30 or the time your told is the latest to be seated not they pack up the food ???? Never come across this anywhere before . So what guests should be told is there is no breakfast after 9.30 so don’t bothered coming in at 9.30 am . Very disappointing."

Hotel VARA

Hotel VARA

8/10 Good
"Hotel VARA is a really nicely renovated hotel. The staff were lovely and helpful and accommodated our very late check-in with no problem. We also ate dinner there, and the food was pretty nice for hotel food. They also provided a bottle of chilled water, which tasted delicious after coming from London. As other people have mentioned, it's not the most mobility-friendly place to stay. We ended up with a room with a bath only and no shower stand for the shower head. The hotel is also a up a hill, so if you are coming from the station, it's a bit of a climb. However, it's only 10 min into town and about 15 to the station since it's downhill."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Coverack?
The best area to stay in Coverack is right in the village centre, particularly near the harbour and along The Green. This charming Cornish fishing village is quite compact, with most hotels, guesthouses, and holiday cottages clustered around the picturesque harbour. The main street, which winds down to the water, is lined with a few local shops, cafes, and pubs. Its layout means you're never far from the sea, and the sound of the waves is a constant, pleasant backdrop. For couples seeking a relaxing getaway, staying near the harbour is ideal. You'll have easy access to scenic coastal walks along the South West Coast Path, with stunning views of the Lizard Peninsula. Evenings can be spent enjoying fresh seafood at a harbourside restaurant or a quiet drink at a local pub, all within a short stroll from your accommodation.Families travelling with children will also find the village centre convenient. The small, sheltered beach in the harbour is superb for paddling and rock pooling, and there are often boats to watch coming and going.

You'll find most local businesses, like cafes and shops, operating at full capacity, providing the best selection of local produce and crafts. For those who enjoy activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming in the sea, the water temperature is at its warmest in July and August.Couples looking for a relaxing break will appreciate the extended daylight hours for strolls along the harbour and enjoying al fresco dining with sea views. Families, particularly during the school holidays in July and August, will find plenty of opportunities for rock pooling, beach games, and exploring the Lizard Peninsula.
