Property said there were three beds in the one room, but there was two beds in one room and then a separate bed in the room next door. The facilities were clean, modern and had great air conditioning. The location is a little out of the old city or shopping district or Bund, but we took a taxi to all very cheaply. There is also public transportation nearby.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in the world. The service is out of this world. The room is extremely comfortable. I have travelled and toured the world in the last 30 years often in 4-5 stars hotels. I must say that the Fairmont Peace will remain very special in my memory. It is worth the splurge. Also it has the best location if you want to walk around the Bund.

The hotel is pretty old in general and sort of poorly maintained. First is the blackout curtain was not properly postioned in the slot, it woke me up as soon as the sun rises. Then nearly half of the sockets are too loose to use. Can you believe the socket for the hair dryer is unuseable????? I have to plug it to a socket outside the washroom that's near the floor area.... This is really subpar as a Banyan Tree...
