"When I visited the property was being rennovated and therefore covered in scaffolding. The inside was still excellent as was the food (of course) but the outside was compromised - however this was reflected in the discounted price. I would like to go back when the scaffold is down and the work completed."
"We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Lorne House. Our room was luxurious, and the bedding was unbelievably comfortable. The thoughtful touches included an assortment of teas and coffees (including decaf), regular and oat milk, plus biscuits right in our room, made it feel extra special.
The full breakfast is absolutely incredible, and able to skip lunch, only needed dinner each day. The house itself is beautiful and very comfortable, with a lovely living room/common area and an inviting outdoor patio. The décor is stunning, and it’s clear the hosts haven’t skimped on a single detail.
Mum Liz Dad Bob and Olivia as well as (Eliza/Harry who had their first child Mathilda, this week) was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, offering great suggestions on where to visit nearby and how to get there. Note: When we arrived, we discovered we had accidentally booked our 5 night stay for the following year, 2027. Harry couldn’t have been more helpful and immediately found a way to accommodate us.
We would highly recommend Lorne House and look forward to returning!"
"Initially my stay was ok, large car park, friendly staff, nice big spacious room.
The pub below does not serve food Mon or Tues (didn't know until it was time to eat). The staff are happy for visitor's to order food in. Breakfast - was in a bag (I was travelling alone) 4 x mini boxes of Cereal, 2 x cereal bars - no additional milk and no staff onsite in the morning.
Check out - was easy, leave the key in the door."
"We had an excellent stay at Whitley Coach House in March. The property had everything we needed for three nights away to explore the area. It was lovely and clean, very comfortable, light, airy and warm. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare home cooked meals. The fridge has a good size freezer above which is very useful if you want to take frozen food with you. There is a good range of cutlery, crockery and glasses, saucepans, oven/roasting tray's. The bed was beautiful, a good size and very comfortable. Better than your average holiday accommodation. There was also an outside area with table and seating which would be great when the weather improves. Check in/out was simple, keys in key safe as advised by host Tim in good time prior to our arrival, along with clear directions on how to get to the property. Parking right outside the Coach House is off road and safe. Only noise we could hear was bird song. Tim was very friendly and provided us with good local knowledge. We were encouraged to call or knock at the main house if we needed anything at all, nothing was too much trouble. "
