"My second stay here and it was just as great as the last. We arrived 10:00 at night, last to check in after an almost 16 hour travel day. An elevator was a bonus since many older buildings don’t have one. Breakfast is also convenient and many places nearby to eat. Marks and Spencer is around corner, as well as Morrisons. There are two laundromats within walking distance, which is helpful. Best of all? The train station is right next door. Easy come, easy go. You really can’t go wrong with this hotel."

"The staff was wonderful, very nice and quick to respond. The outlets by the bed are quite old and did not work with my travel adapter. I had to get an extension cord from the front desk in order to be able to use my breathing machine. "

"We had 2 rooms and both were beautiful and perfect for those travelling. Staff were super attentive and so friendly, nothing was a problem. Breakfast is fantastic. We tried every disj while there and couldnt fault any of them. Our fussy 2 year old was delighted and the staff were super friendly with him. Gary the night manager was fantartic had some great stories and advice for us. Sad we had to leave without saying goodbye but we will be back. We loved everything about it! "

"The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. The common areas feel historic but comfortable and well kept. The rooms are mostly updated but if you want a historic feel, be sure to request it. Pretty much all the rooms are a little different. There’s a lovely walled garden onsite and I got selfies with the Highland cows in the neighboring field. Just know that if you don’t have a car, it’s about a £12-14 cab ride from town. "
