"Beautiful hotel with stunning interior decor in a very central location and handy car park (at extra cost). We had a twin room on the first floor (room 205) which, although was comfortable with excellent shower and comfy beds, the pigeon muck on the outside of the windows was not very nice! We enjoyed our 1 night stay (with a good breakfast) but would not recommend a room on that side of the building as the noise from the outdoor terrace area was substantial from check-in through to late night. Staff were very friendly and welcoming."

"The room was fine, good size, clean, everything in working order. However, the room was extremely hot with no air conditioning and there was a lot of noise from outside. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to check in early but unable to change our room to reduce heat or noise as the hotel was full. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice."

"We stayed for one night, friendly welcoming staff, our room was clean,the bed was very comfy, there was parking and there were shops on the same street. Very close to town . We would definatley stay again"

"Very nice cottage in ideal location for the town centre. Check in was smooth and the cottage was very clean and tidy. My husband and I stayed with our adult son who was house hunting in Colchester. It might not be suitable for someone with poor mobility as the stairs were very narrow and steep and the bathroom was downstairs, but it was fine for us. Also very well equipped. Leaving a brolly would have been useful as we got caught in a shower walking to the car park...!"

"Old Carriage House converted into a wonderful apartment. We loved the location of this stay. We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. The city centre train station was just a short walk away as well. Thank you to our host for the awesome check-in and also for the lift to the "other" train station for our trip back into London. If we are ever in the Colchester area again, we will definitely stay here again. : )"
