Mid week family break
Enjoyed a mid week break away with family. Lovely welcome pack in the cottage. Bedrooms would have benefited from black out blinds and with lots of beams keeping on top of cobwebs would improve first impressions.

Pretty on the outside
I arrived at The Granary on my own as we had a change to our plans so my husband and children arrived a day later. I hadn't received any communication about getting into the house SatNav doesn't pick up the postcode so had to drive around before finding the house. When I arrived no one was around, but I was excited eveywhere looked beautiful. I sent a message asking for the code for the keysafe but then discovered it wasn't lock so I let myself in on first appearance everywhere looked beautiful quaint little barn conversion. I unpacked settled myself in. Had a look around. I then realised the front door was open and because I was staying on my own in the middle of nowhere I wanted to feel safe this really unsettled me. I carried on with my unpacking to find dirty clothes the the drawer someone underwear not plesent. As the evening went on I found the place to be very dusty and dirty cobwebs everywhere I know its hard to keep on top of in old buildings but this was more than just a little bit every blind was covered in dirt, the cups were dirty and a few plates too. I sat down and watched TV and had a glass of wine after I washed the glass first. The evening was ok. Time for bed I locked all the doors still feeling a little put about about the doors not being locked before I arrived. The bathroon sink wasn't clean and I decided to have a shower as it was very hot in the house and no fans left. The plug in the shower was full of hair and it wasn't mine. There were dead flys on all the windows sills no shower cleaner or toilet cleaner. To bed then bed had a few dead bugs on the covers yuck. The mattress has seen better days not the best night sleep. But get up feeling positive that my family as joining me. Then I find there is not enough towels for us all so I contact the property service and Charlie is very helpful gets back to me leaves a message to say towels will be dropped off. No towels ever arrive. Then next day we have a wedding in stoke by nayland so 4 people to shower with only 3 towels I also find a list of things We should have received in the welcome basket No Jam, No Juice. Milk not in the fridge in the basket Cornflakes jar smells of coffee and the Cornflakes are old and soft. I never did receive an email so didn't no check out time so had a ask. There also wasnt any surface cleaner for kitchen and with covid not completely gone I think being able to wipe the sides is important. Will not return
