Search Colcamar hotels

The best area to stay in Colcamar is generally within the town centre, particularly around the Plaza de Armas.

This central area is the heart of Colcamar and is where most of the town's facilities are located. You'll find a selection of guesthouses and small hotels here, along with local eateries and shops. The Plaza de Armas itself is a pleasant public square, often a focal point for local life, and provides easy access to the main road leading to nearby attractions.

For travellers looking for convenience and a central base to explore the region, staying near the Plaza de Armas is ideal. It allows for easy access to local transport and provides a good starting point for day trips to places like the Gocta Waterfall or the Kuelap Fortress.

The best time to visit Colcamar is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty and archaeological sites of the Amazonas Region. The trails to Gocta Waterfall and Kuelap Fortress are much more accessible and pleasant to traverse when the weather is dry. This period is particularly good for couples or active travellers planning to hike and discover the area's outdoor attractions.

The shoulder months of April and November can also be a good option for those looking to avoid the peak dry season crowds while still enjoying relatively good weather. You might encounter occasional showers, but these are often brief.
