"The cabin and property are absolutely perfect. If you are looking for quiet solitude, this is the place. The beautiful fire pit area and the front porch will have you wanting to spend all your time outside, but the interior of the cabin is so immaculate and inviting, you’ll love being indoors as well. I initially booked three nights but it was so enjoyable, I extended my stay an additional day. It’s that good. The hosts genuinely care about the enjoyment of your stay and it shows. The proximity to mountain biking in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and hiking at Copper Falls makes this a great central location for a host of adventures. This will be my first choice of stay on my next trip up north."

"This is a nice, small, and very clean motel. The manager was nice and helpful. I stayed more than one night and have no complaints. Parking is available on site as well as next door. A large, well known gas station chain has a location right next door and Ashland has a lot to offer when it comes to food and drink options. I suggest going downtown to check out all the amazing murals on some of the buildings and go see the sites and view of the lake. I have been to Ashland more than once and I always have a good time when I’m there."

"We just completed our second stay at Bakkestua for a family vacation and—once again—Bakkestua did not disappoint! This property is just as described in the listing —clean, well-appointed and well-equipped, beautifully furnished, with a lovely lake view. A highlight for us and one of our favorite features is that the property has two (2) decks, one on each end of the cabin. Communication with the host is excellent—(Ellen) is prompt and thorough with providing information and responding to questions. We absolutely love Bakkestua and hope to return for a third visit next summer!"

"We enjoyed our family weekend at the Hygge cabin. The kitchen is well stocked for large group cooking. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the expansive yard, ping pong table, and pickleball! The location is central to lakes, restaurants, and downtown Hayward. Jacob quickly responded when we had questions. Would book here again!"
