"We just completed our second stay at Bakkestua for a family vacation and—once again—Bakkestua did not disappoint! This property is just as described in the listing—clean, well-appointed and well-equipped, beautifully furnished, with a lovely lake view. A highlight for us and one of our favorite features is that the property has two (2) decks, one on each end of the cabin. Communication with the host is excellent—(Ellen) is prompt and thorough with providing information and responding to questions. We absolutely love Bakkestua and hope to return for a third visit next summer!"

"We enjoyed our family weekend at the Hygge cabin. The kitchen is well stocked for large group cooking. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the expansive yard, ping pong table, and pickleball! The location is central to lakes, restaurants, and downtown Hayward. Jacob quickly responded when we had questions. Would book here again!"

"The family loved using the kayaks and canoe. The kids caught dozens of sun fish and some bluegill and a Muskie. There was plenty of room for our big family. It was a very relaxing holiday."

"The cabin was clean and well stocked (there were even coffee filters). We did not do much cooking but there were plenty of pots and pans, dishes and silverware if we had needed them. I made suggestion that grab bars be installed on either side of the tub on the wooden trim pieces. We are seniors and found the tub quite slippery.The view was beautiful. We saw an eagle fly around close to shore and heard the loons calling to their chicks and friends to alert them to the eagle. The cabin is very private with trees all around. The porch/dining room was lovely and we sat on it every night until it got dark outside."

"This house was great for a group! Loved the kitchen and the big table, and the beds were very comfortable. They're obviously still working on a few items to improve the experience--the trail to the lake and the porch--but it's still a great house and in a nice, quiet location. (If you want to use the porch, I recommend bringing a fan.) The lake itself was great in that we could get to the other lakes in the chain. The chain of lakes was great! It would have been nice if the boat lift had been installed but, fortunately, we had a great weather so we didn't end up needing it.If you're looking for an authentic supper club experience, we recommend the Tally Ho Supper Club. It's less than 10 minutes away and has great food!Brittney and Andrew were great with all communication and were very accommodating! We had a wonderful time here!!"
