Overlook at Lake Burton - Beautiful views of Lake

Booking Notes:

Overlook at Lake Burton is your perfect cabin getaway. Snuggled in the woods with views of Lake Burton (best views in winter time).  Close to LaPrade's Marina, rent boats, enjoy restaurants, visit Moccasin Creek Fish Hatchery, not far from the Appalachian Trail. Relax on the porch with your morning coffee or come back from a day of hiking and layback in the hot tub and watch the stars come out!

Although Overlook cabin has no lake access, guests can use either of two nearby marinas to store boats, rent boats or fish at Moccasin Creek State Park. Guests will need to have a Georgia fishing license. Contact La Prades Marina for launching and overnight boat slip information. Launch fees are $5 per day. To leave a boat on a trailer at La Prades there is a cost of $10 daily or the cost of an overnight slip is $25 nightly. Overlook cabin is 10 minutes (4 miles) from LaPrade's Marina.  

Anchorage Marina on Lake Burton has slip rentals for your boat or watersport rentals to enoy the lake. It is located at Anchorage Boat Dock 75 Timpson Cove Rd. Clayton, GA 30525. Call (706) 782-3013 for inquiries. 

This newly remodeled 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin has been lovingly restored with all new appliances. Stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher & large kitchen sink. Bar with 2 stools in kitchen for casual dining or outside dining on deck with table and 6 chairs.  
Living room has fireplace with remote controlled gas logs for winter use and TV for cozy evenings in the cabin.
Cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All bedrooms have TVs and ceiling fans. Owner has provided a stackable washer & dryer for guests.

November 1, 2023 - Lake starts down gradually from Normal (1865.0 elevation)
January 15, 2024   - Lake is 13’ feet down (1852.0 elevation)
January 26, 2024   - Lake starts up from (1852.0 elevation)
March 1, 2024        - Lake is within 5’ feet of Normal pool (1860.0 elevation)
May 1, 2024           - Lake is back to Normal summer pool (1865.0 elevation)

Wonderful vacation at the lake!

We had a wonderful week at The Over Look Cabin! It was such a peaceful location with everything you could want! The cabin was well stocked and immaculately clean. The hot tub on the deck was so relaxing. We enjoyed fishing at Lake Burton and Lake Seed. The driveway is a bit steep and the mountain road is curvy, but we easily rented a spot to park our boat at LaPrades. We grilled fish at the cabin, but also enjoyed a few dinners out in Clayton. We had a lovely time!

Summer Lake Weekend

One of the best end of summer lake weekends we have ever had. Beautiful location and cabin. We brought our boat and parked at LaPrade's, enjoyed Lake Burton to the fullest by eating at Bleu Canoe (right down the street) anchoring at Goat Island for a swim picnic and grilling out on the nice deck at night. We had a blast, cannot wait to go back!

Comfy and cozy family time

This house was perfect for a quick fall break/40th birthday celebration for my family of 5. We all enjoyed the big fireplace and the fire pit so much. The house has everything you need and is spotless and nicely renovated. The location is beautiful and there are a lot of hikes and things to do within a 30 minute drive. The kids loved playing in the big yard! We hope to come back!

cabin getaway

We came in the winter to this Lake Burton getaway. This had all the amenities needed for a great stay. One exception was there was no carbon monoxide detector which we did not check on before our stay. Was told owners will be looking into that for future stays. Fire place is gas. This would be a perfect place to come in the summer. View in winter overlooking the lake was very beautiful with the sunrise! Beds were very comfortable and plenty of hot water for showers! Will consider a stay with the grandchildren.

Very clean and the VRBO photos were true and accurate. Loved the covered deck and used the Grill every night. Conveniently located for touring the surrounding areas. I would stay there again.
