"The whole venue is simply amazing. Beautiful building, great atmosphere, very cosy with the multiple log fires. Our room (Blenheim suite) was absolutely stunning. There is nothing I would change about this place! Keep up the great work! We will definitely be back, next time we will eat dinner here (we only stayed here to visit Clarkson’s Farm and the Farmer’s Dog but were left underwhelmed with the food in the Farmer’s Dog)."

"What a lovely hotel! The room, although small, was perfectly adequate and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were so kind and attentive. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. "

"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). The bathroom was great too, shower a little on the less-powerful side, but I expected that seeing...

"We stayed here for the night as we were going to the Farmers Dog pub for dinner.
This is a great pub/restaurant with rooms. We were in the annexe across the court yard. Room was nice with plenty of space . Complimentary water, hot drinks, biscuits, shower toiletries and comfy top quality bedding. The only downside was the shower was a little awkward. Big waterfall shower but fitted a bit close to the taps so in order to be underneath it you had to stand right by the taps over the plug hole and it didn’t flow that fast. But we weren’t too bothered by that as only one night stay.
We sat in the bar and had drinks, staff were friendly and polite, nice atmosphere.
We had breakfast which was yummy with plenty of choice.
Overall a nice place to stay, would stay here again. "
"No WiFi - and thin walls, noisy at times but staff and food beyond amazing - upside surprise on food and staff couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are small. Beware when they have weddings not to be in front of venue - very noisy "
"Friendly staff and lovely food.. maybe one of the best steaks ever tasted.
Room was large and well equipped. Over looked the beer garden but no noise after 10 so that was fine. Small car park to the rear but ample for the guests.
Hoping to stay here again. "
"Arrived close to closing time and was warmly greeted by publcan, staff and pub regilars.
Felt safe and was well fed at breakfast time. Nice to hear other guests talking about their intended visitsof the day.
Publican helpful with my additional enquiries and offered suggestions of taxis to get to and from a venue..
Lovely lunch eaten after checking out.
Beer Garden well looked after and village was nice to wander around with further walks suggested, if required.
The place is cared for.
Would go again 8f opportunity arises."
"Loved the hotel and restaurant, such a beautiful building and rooms, outside lovely too, with croquet, giant chess and hoopla. Food was very nice, we had evening meal and breakfast. Staff friendly and attentive too. We’re definitely coming back. Fab location."

The bathroom was great too, shower a little on the less-powerful side, but I expected that seeing as I was in a small hut and not a house. The internet service was reliable. I used the swimming pond, which was blissful and such a good size - cold to get into, but very easy to stay a long time once you're in. The location is peaceful and very green. (It's on a flightpath, which didn't bother me, I enjoyed seeing the planes going over every now and then.) I went on a nice walk on footpaths leading out of the estate and back through the village where I stopped at the pub for a drink on the way. Just wonderful. I will 100% come back here for some peace and some time to myself."
