About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Boutique cottage in the heart of Chipping Campden, a Cotswold gem.

Imagine a scene of tumbling hills, patchwork countryside and bluebell woods. Nestled in that landscape is a town full of honey-coloured architectural gems, authentic pubs and great shops. Here you'll find the Old Studio. It's the perfect accommodation for a relaxing couples retreat, an ideal family-friendly base for touring all the many nearby sights or a cosy meeting point for old friends.

The Old Studio is a beautiful Cotswold stone detached cottage with plenty of space to comfortably accommodate 4 people.

Owned by the couple behind a renowned Cotswold Interior Design firm, the property underwent an extensive renovation in 2021.

The aim was to create a holiday cottage that felt more like a luxury boutique hotel. Particular attention has been paid to the quality of the beds (Vi-sprung), upholstery (George Smith) and shower (Fired Earth). The interior is light and airy. Good quality, natural materials have been used throughout.

From the front door, you walk into a light-filled, open-plan living, dining & kitchen area. The kitchen is well-equipped with plentiful cutlery, crockery and glassware. There's a lovely shower room downstairs with a spacious cubicle and a good quality powerful shower. There's also a small utility room with a washing machine.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a small family bathroom and a study area on the landing. The rooms are furnished with Vi-sprung beds and have wooden Venetian blinds at the windows.

Please be aware that, like most Cotswold cottages, the bedrooms have been built into the eaves of the building and have restricted head height in some areas.

There are large french doors in the living room which open out to a sunny paved dining area with a dining table and four chairs. There's further outdoor seating for the exclusive use of guests in the shared garden. There is secure off-road parking for 1 car and further free road parking nearby.

Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome. We ask that they are not left alone in the property or allowed up onto the furniture.

The owners live at the other end of the garden. They aim to strike a happy balance between being available to give advice and assistance when needed, while also giving guests plenty of privacy to enjoy a relaxing holiday

The setting is in a secluded part of Chipping Campden away from the hustle and bustle of the High Street but within a few minutes walk of all its' amenities. The town is well provided for with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and a good selection of local shops including excellent delis and a couple of small supermarkets. We also enjoy a wide variety of galleries and buildings of historical importance. Campden is a well-located town within an easy drive of Cheltenham, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford. It's in the heart of the English Cotswolds, which is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The perfect Cotswold break
We had a wonderful pre Christmas break in this lovely cottage. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent as well as during our stay. Thank you Helen. The Cottage is perfect for a short break- comfy beds and a decent shower. The kitchen is well equipped and the overall layout of the cottage is ideal for a family of 4. The local area is so lovely- a picture perfect Cotswolds village. There are great dog walks on your doorstep and Chipping Camden highstreet is a mere 10 minute walk away. The village offers some great restaurants such as Michael’s and Da Luigis, both of which are dog friendly. There’s also a deli and some other nice shops and pubs, so a decent amount of places to visit. If you want to venture a bit further, the village of Broadway is worth the 10 minute drive. Thank you for a fantastic break.

Perfect location
This was a delightful property, thoughtfully supplied with all one needs, in a great location. Short walk to a wonderful center with great delis and restaurants, yet not overrun with tourists as we witnessed while touring other Cotswold “hotspots”. Chipping Camden is on the Cotswold way and with the guides supplied by the hosts, we were able to take incredible walks throughout the area, from village yo village on footpaths. We went days without getting into the car. Perfect!

Cozy in the Cotswolds
Helen was amazingly responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Kitchen was well supplied. A very comfortable place to spend the week. The apartment is an easy five minute walk to the High Street in Chipping Campden, and there is bus service to other parts of the Cotswolds, but if you plan to spend time exploring the larger region, a car will make it a lot easier.

Perfect Location
We loved our stay in Chipping Campden. The cottage was so cute and convenient to town. We walked to dinner every night and could gather a couple of groceries from the market for the evening/morning. Helen was so sweet and helpful. She was always a short walk away and responded promptly to any question we had. It was a nice surprise to find fresh chocolate croissants left for us for our first morning. We would not hesitate to stay here next time we are in the Cotswolds.
