A lovely 3 night break at Compton Farm cottages in the “plough shedâ€, extremely relaxing.. just what we wanted!
We had a wonderful week in the Plough Shed. The location is wonderful for local attractions and amazing walks. The Octagonal Walks booklet which you can purchase at the local cafe/shop offers a variety of well documented walks.
The only thing we found disappointing was the amount of dog hair in the cottage, a good vacuum cleaner would have helped.

Cozy cottage for 2 humans and 2 labradors.
Cozy cottage for 2 humans and 2 labradors. Very comfortable with enough space for us all. Wonderful open field from the door step (perfect for games of fetch and a gentle wander before breakfast and bedtime) with lovely walks beyond. Village tea shop just a very short walk away for essentials and essential cakes and pastries. Easy access to beach and other picturesque towns, within a 30-40 minutes drive. No local pub sadly but there are some a short drive away. Took a star off as we unfortunately found it a bit difficult to communicate with the owners prior to arrival and felt the kitchen could have had a couple more supplies provided in comparison to other places visited (eg salt and pepper, cooking oil, ice tray) and the fridge was quite small but just about adequate. That said we would not be put off returning and would be very happy to visit again.
Excellent hospitality, fantastic accommodation in an beautiful rural setting.

Such a cosy, clean and comfortable cottage.
Such a cosy, clean and comfortable cottage. Owners are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We had a wonderful short break here -and discovered just how beautiful West Sussex is, and yet only an hour and a half from where we live!
We hope to return, and also share our recommendations with family and friends.
Thank you for the cakes and milk, for a welcoming cuppa!

We believe a door out onto the private rear garden is in the process of being built.
We believe a door out onto the private rear garden is in the process of being built. Great! A grab handle on the bathroom wall near the toilet would help and a blind over the sky light would delay the morning sunlight.

Excellent place for a break in a lovely little village with tea shop and pub.
Excellent place for a break in a lovely little village with tea shop and pub. Welcomed on arrival and then left to enjoy the holiday. One little piece of advice...make sure the skylight in the bedroom is shut tight if you don't want to be woken at 4.00 am by the cockerel at the back! (Shouldn't be a problem in the winter). I hasten to add that this bird does not belong to the owner and it didn't spoil my holiday.
