Family celebration
We had a fantastic Easter weekend stay at Lumiere celebrating my mum’s 70th birthday. Lottie was so helpful, checking before what we needed for our stay such as high chairs and travel cot and letting me arrive slightly early so I could set up some decorations. She very kindly left a few treats to add to the celebrations! The house was perfect for a family with great living space, a massive DVD collection and cupboard with some kids toys, well equipped kitchen. We especially loved the coffee machine and the aga. The aga was easy to cook in, although we also had great takeaways from fish and chips and Indian restaurants near by. We were blessed with a sunny weekend and the garden was sheltered from the wind so we made full use of the outside dining table and sun loungers. The house was perfectly located for a short stroll into the little town and pebbly beach with great ice cream shack. It was also just a quick and easy drive to West Wittering’s sandy beach which was well worth it for entertaining the little ones. We all agreed we would stay again!

A GEM OF A FIND
An absolutely stunning property to celebrate the New Year with friends. Location was perfect, a 5 minute stroll into town and a two minute walk to the beach. We chilled and re-charged and felt so at home here. It was so nice of Charlotte to supply a bottle of bubbly and some chocolate for us with a HNY card, such a lovely touch and most welcomed. Thank you again.

Christmas stay
6 adults and 2 dogs enjoyed Christmas at Lumiere. Host was excellent providing all information we needed for cooking our turkey in the Aga. Unfortunately heating did not work host was great immediately sourcing a plumber even at Christmas. Heating could not be fixed we were offered alternative accommodation but chose to stay at Lumiere using immersion for our hot water. Would recommend host & accommodation to our friends

Perfect Respite
Our four day layover for the Channel ferry at Lumiere was perfect. The home was comfortably warmed by the Aga during our winter visit. The kitchen was superbly outfitted and fittingly seaside-decorated. All amenities were exactly as advertised. East Wittering village is a few steps east and offers 2 greengrocers, 2 modest chain markets, 2 fine bakeries and cafes generously patronized by locals and visitors. A big grassy park for dog play lay right across the road and the southeast section of the English Coastal Path just two blocks the other side. The host was prompt and generous regarding our queries and particular needs for getting to the fate night ferry in Portsmouth. We look forward to finding an excuse to return to Lumiere during a milder season. Terrific spot.

Fabulous!
Stunning property, clean, cosy and comfy. Beds were super comfy and kitchen wise there was everything you could possibly need - we even worked out how to cook using the aga thanks to the excellent instructions. Lumiere is in a great location, so close to the beach and the pub. We tried all the local restaurants and Wittering has all the shops you could need. All in all a wonderful week.

The house is literally 2 minutes from the beach which was great, we walked every day. We were so lucky with the weather & was able to use the pretty garden every day. The house is very well equipped & will have every utensil you could ever want!

Wonderful Home
We were in town for the Goodwood Revival and booked this house to come home to every evening. Very relaxing for all of us. Beach was a minute away, lots of shops and food options, house was a great layout. We loved it !

Magical
Have stayed at this property twice now. You walk in and it instantly feels home from home for us. Relaxation sets in virtually immediately. The house is super equipped and it’s always nice to walk in to find a welcome gift. Location is brilliant. All you need is on your doorstep. A stones throw away from the beach. Grab your beach chair, coffee in a flask and enjoy the early morning views across the beach. Did this a few times even when the wind was really gusty. Beautiful. Already wanting to rebook for another wonderful stay here.

A lovely family house close to the beach
We had a very relaxing stay in East Wittering. The house is well suited to a family stay and the garden is 100% dog secure and friendly. Very close to the beach as well as local shops and cafes. To top it off the weather was fantastic too.

Wonderful property
The house is situated about 2mins walk to the beach shops and cafes. Perfect !!! The house had everything you needed and more! Really comfortable, clean and a great place for our group of friends to spend a very happy weekend. The host was so helpful and responded to questions really quickly. A lovely place to stay!!! Wonderful House in gorgeous location
We had a wonderful stay at Lumiere, which has a sun-soaked garden and is a stone's throw from the beach. The house has everything you could need for a holiday, the hosts have thought of everything. The welcome fizz and chocs were also appreciated. The location right next to the village in East Wittering is perfect, a quick stroll and you are in any of the lovely restaurants and on the beach. The hosts were super responsive and helpful - we'll definitely be back!

Bank Holiday by the sea!
We loved staying at your place just a few roads away from the sea. My husband and son spent the morning swimming and after we’d get ice cream right by the shore. The house is walking distance to all the facilities which includes- cafes, restaurants, a good sized Tesco and a Boots Chemist. We stayed home during the day as it was so comfy and just sunbathed in the garden. Our little pup was also happy as the garden is secure and he was able to come and go safely.

Beautiful home a stones throw from the beach
A spacious, comfortable and well-appointed home in a village no more than 2mins walk to the beach. Walk the other direction and you have a selection of restaurants and excellent local amenities (choice of butchers, greengrocers, bakeries, local supermarkets and gift shops) A great house to unwind in, in a terrific location

10 out of 10 Holiday
We had a four night break staying over Christmas, and it was absolutely perfect. We are a family of five adults and one pointer dog, and we just couldn't fault the house or the location. It really is only a 2 minute walk to the beach, where you can walk for miles to Selsey to the left or West Wittering to the right. We had always wanted to walk on a beach on Christmas Day, so it was perfect - if you time it right with the tides the beach is huge. The house was wonderfully warm. We had never cooked on an Aga before so Christmas Day lunch was a very fluid affair timing wise, but it all went well! Kitchen and utility room had everything you needed equipment wise, all the top gadgets and more. There was spices and salt and pepper, tea, coffee, etc, so plenty to start you off. Christmas decorations were up, and a bottle of fizz and chocolates greeted us on arrival. The house was very cosy, with lots of homely touches, and beautifully decorated. There was the largest selection of DVDs we had ever seen, so plenty to keep you entertained if the weather is poor or dark winter nights. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone, and hope that maybe one day we can return. Thank you for a very relaxing break.

The perfect place for reuniting with friends
Pretty, light, airy, spacious, homely property. Clean, with eclectic furniture and not TOO pristine; all the more ideal for comfy relaxation. Sleeps 7 easily with various bed configurations. Mattresses all really comfortable and a great selection of pillow options. Loads of storage for clothes and belongings. Well equipped for self-catering and many little touches - some intentional welcoming decor, trinkets and gadgets, as well as a wealth of 'donated' extras from previous guests. Some could say cluttered, others may consider that 'real' and interesting. Can't comment on the Aga function as we didn't use it. 7 of us survived perfectly well on just the 2 gas rings, producing main meals, breakfasts and brunches no problem. (Other options include microwave, toaster, electric oven.) It genuinely is a few short steps onto the beach, pebbly immediately, but a 15 minute walk along the shore will get you to the sand. Two minutes in the other direction and you reach plenty of shops for provisions and dining options. (Can highly recommend Drifters - friendly, accommodating staff and interesting tasty dishes.) The garden is great with ample seating, fruit-bearing apple trees and a summer house in which all 7 of us could sit to do battle with the cryptic crossword ! We were a group of secondary school classmates, just hanging out and enjoying all being together again after 50 years. Seemed quite fitting that we were doing that when our amazingly long-reigning Queen passed away. RIP Elizabeth.

Lovely house, great location!
Lovely house in great location. Charlotte was super friendly and helpful, changed date for us without any problems and let us get in early and out late which was fab! Brilliant location very close to beach and the great array of shops up the road. We did actually find the aga too hot and switched it off but we managed well on the hob. The house is shabby chic style which we love , my only criticism being that we felt there was too much stuff in the house and drawers , which could do with a bit of organizing and clearing out! However, we had a brilliant holiday here and would return especially if there was a bit more space from removing some of the excess furniture that got in our way with 5 kids and two adults! Appreciate this might just be us though! And a better/bigger tv in the living space but again appreciate that not all people want that! Overall all though a great holiday house in great location with lovely comfy beds and linen!

Excellent stay
This is the second time we have holidayed in this lovely property and I expect we will again. We had a problem with the hot water but a plumber was on the scene in a couple of hours and sorted it. Very good service. We feel that the double bed mattresses are overdue for renewal. But apart from that it is excellent in every respect.

Thank you for comments, and I’m so pleased you enjoyed your second trip. The mattress in the top bedroom is in-fact only about two months old, I will double check the mattress topper, perhaps it has creased. I will look at the one downstairs too, it is a tempur and some find these different to ones they are used to.

Delightful family home away from home
Charlotte's home, Lumiere, felt more like a family home than a holiday let - all the creature comforts of a private family's holiday cottage were there and we immediately settled in. The electric AGA was a total luxury, the roll top bath in the master bedroom made us felt like we were in a hotel and all the gear/kitchen supplies you could possibly need were on hand. Charlotte's communication was excellent, offering help and support promptly if we had any questions. Added bonuses - you can park your car on the driveway and the walk to the beach with our toddler took exactly 2mins as advertised. We would be only too pleased to stay again.

Great property in a great location
Wonderful airy and bright property really well located - it is literally a 2 min walk to the beach - don't let the stones put you off, just time the tides and you have miles of soft sand to walk on ;) It's also 5 mins walk to the shops and restaurants in east Wittering so overall a perfect spot

Fabulous stay
Great property with a lovely social space for cooking chatting and enjoying the sunshine, with friends and dogs. Seating and loungers wherever you need them and all very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and I loved cooking on the Aga (and giving it cuddles…it’s like a big warm heart in the kitchen). The quality of beds and bedding is really important to me and the house definitely delivered on this. The Witterings are great for a seaside break and Lumière would be hard to beat as a choice of accommodation. Charlotte responded immediately to my requests and was very helpful. Thank you.

Calm place for revision
The house was perfect for us. My daughter finds the sea very calming and helpful for revision. There are a number of Nice restaurants near by and a 2 minute walk to the beach. The neighbourhood was quite and peaceful. The garden is lovely
