A perfect hideaway…
We absolutely loved our little cottage … a perfect place for a time away from the hubbub. Quiet & peaceful - with breakfast, lunch & aperitivi in the sheltered little front garden. Cottage well equipped for everything… cooking, relaxing - and a fabulous location.

Cosy New Year break
Four nights arranged around a wedding. Lovely location with great coastal walks. Dog heaven. Great little cottage well equipped and comfortable beds. Internet is v slow but probably inevitable being at “end of the line”. TV kept needing to buffer so take books!

Cosy cottage
Very cosy and welcoming cottage in a very quiet location. A small but well equipped kitchen. We slept like logs in the comfy beds after a lovely hot shower and fluffy towels. Definitely a home from home.

Long weekend at West Wittering
We love West Wittering beach and have been trying to find a holiday accommodation to which we can keep going back for ages and I think we finally found it! As we never leave our dog behind when we travel it needed to be a dog friendly and with good walks/beach close by. Our stay delivered on all the fronts. The cottage was beautiful and clean, bedroom had a comfortable bed, kitchen was compact but very well equipped. Perfect little front garden where we sat and soaked all the sunshine. Plenty of walks right on your doorstep, beautiful beach sunsets every evening (we were very lucky with the weather). We already booked our next stay and can't wait to be back!

Comfort in an incredible location
Super rental, pure and simple. Freshly painted throughout and with really comfy beds and spotless bedding (how are the duvet covers so creaseless?), it's a complete getaway and on the doorstep some incredibly beautiful walks. A lot of care and attention has been given to supplying a warm welcome for a self sufficient stay. Games, books, Netflix, DVD player etc. I don't think it needs selling but the photos on the site don't really do it justice. It was a lot more roomy and solid than we had imagined and although the kitchen is well used and compact, I've never seen so much provision made for catering ... it was an absolute treasure trove and kitted out by an enthusiastic cook. Nice little secure garden for the dog but we had to heave him out the door for that bedtime visit as the daily walks were varied and so enjoyable despite pretty ghastly weather and we wore him out! We loved it thank you.

A delightful Christmas stay
The property is so comfortable and situated in one of the most beautiful locations- a recipe for a perfect Christmas. The kitchen is very well equipped and cooking up a roast beef Christmas dinner was no problem. There are gorgeous walks straight from the door so we hardly needed to use the cars, making this a very relaxing break. Midnight Mass at the church four minutes away was a wonderful experience. We could hear waves crashing onto the beach from the cottage and when we were inside the church! Overall the cottage is so comfortable, warm and cosy with decor that was so pleasing to the eye. All in all 10 out of 10 !!

Lovely oasis
Had another fantastic escape to the sea here. Our stay was full of dramatic storms which we enjoyed from the comfort of this very warm welcoming little house. The sea is a short walk away with a great cafe which we enjoyed lunch in when the weather drove us inside! The beds and bedding are super comfy!

Perfect coastal stay

Coastguard cottage is a little gem in West Wittering!
Second year we’ve stayed here. We love it for the location. So close to the beach and shops- all within walking distance. Great for dog walks. It ticked the box for all the family and we didn’t use the car for a week!

Lovely clean and cosy cottage a stone's throw from the beach and dunes, walks and pubs. Overlooks Snowhill Creek and the various sea birds. All reached by foot from the door. Will definitely return!

Very cozy, well equipped, great location!
Really enjoyed our long weekend in West Wittering, and especially our stay in coastguards cottage! Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen with various essentials in the cupboards. Good Wi-fi, pretty garden, many books and games, it was absolutely ideal.

One of our best family holidays
Coastguard cottage was an excellent find for our family of 4 and dog. We parked the car on Friday and didn’t get back into it till Thursday. The kids surfed, we walked or cycled everywhere and the surrounding countryside was idyllic. The house had everything we needed and it just felt very home away from home. We hope to come back again very soon! Thank you.

Great little cottage for a sunny summer break.
Cottage is wonderfully clean and has been repainted outside since our last visit so looks really nice. Lovely to sit outside in the morning for breakfast and a lazy early evening drink in the evening sun. Inside the kitchen is functional and the upstairs bedrooms cool and cosy. Lots of books to read and games in the cupboard and the beach is a 10min walk. On raining days there is netflicks and heaps of place nearby to explore (chitchester etc). Co-op nearby for all essentials and just eat deliver if needed. Mobile reception is poor or non existent - but the WiFi works for iPads etc. Owner is lovely and always super helpful.

Great and quiet location to get away from it all
Great way to recharge batteries after a traumatic time. Walks along the beaches and great food nearby. Easy access to Chichester and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard/Mary Rose. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer

Amazing, glorious, perfect! Julian was incredibly helpful too, on our last day we needed to leave our cases whilst we enjoyed some time on the beach, he allowed us to use another property to store the cases and for us to change, great customer service!

Ideal for walks / cosy cottage!
We had a lovely week ... we explored all the places we like in and around west wittering : our dog loved the sand dunes of East Head! Walks are so easy from the door of the cottage . Cottage was cosy and plenty of space for the two of us + pointer! We look forward to a return visit when we can enjoy the garden more!

A neat and well-equipped cottage in an attractive setting.
There's everything one needs at this pretty cottage for an enjoyable break. It's comfortable and neatly appointed. The sea is a few minutes walk away and there is a good pub nearby, as well as an excellent café and a restaurant. Plenty of shops at East Wittering and lovely Chichester is a short drive or bus ride away. Recommended.

Lovely cottage, the perfect place to utterly relax or write a novel. Total peace.
Wonderful place, very peaceful location, always very quiet. Charming period cottage with genuine character, perfectly equipped for all that could be needed. Wonderful Stay
This property has everything that you could want for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped, clean and tidy. Very good quality bedding. Very nice views from upstairs front bedroom. Beautiful garden. Pool for crabbing just 5 minutes walk and beach 5 minutes further. There is also plenty to do in the immediate area and beyond. All five of us have said since being back that we wished we were still there.

Fantastic return visit to Snowhill Creek
Just returned from a lovely week at this delightful cottage.We stayed in October 2016 and were so pleased to be able to book another week this June. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to relax in the garden - having again had a week of fantastic weather or maybe the sun always shines in West Wittering?? The cottage is so nice and you are able to arrive knowing that everything you need is there for you. Beautifully clean and so comfortable. The position is so good for walking nearby or or travelling around by car to explore the Chichester Harbour area. A lovely place to be.

Incredible location!
A fabulous Easter week spent at Coastguards Cottage! The cottage is very well equipped. Julian and Rachael, the owners, were incredibly helpful with our pre-stay questions. Being on a private road, it is so peaceful. The proximity to the beach, 10 mins to the National Trust's East Head was a real treat. Thank you!

Perfect place to recharge
6 Coastguard Cottage for me has been the perfect place to recharge my batteries. Long coastal walks right from the doorsteps have been great ... for me and even more so for my dog. It´s a good idea to come out of season, in high summer West Wittering migth loose it´s charm. Petra, Vienna

Fun!
Fabulous, beautifully decorated, warm house with great bird-watching from the front bedroom! Nice neighbours too. There's absolutely tons to do in the area, esp with bikes: swimming, exploring the salt marsh, bussing into Chichester, fish and chips from East Wittering, harbour tours within walking distance, crabbing, bass fishing, horse-riding and much more.

A 5 star holiday destination
We have just returned from a lovely week at Coastguards cottage. It has been one of the best cottages we have stayed- the cottage, the sunny garden and the location all made our holiday a wonderful experience. We had chosen the area because it was somewhere new and quite near to some of our family but now we can't understand why we hadn't been before. The area is absolutely beautiful and to have this right on the doorstep of the cottage just couldn't have been better. We enjoyed many walks around East Head and along the beach to East Wittering, walked to Itchenor which was stunning and simply enjoyed watching the different tidalscapes at Snowhill Creek with so much birdlife. We met so many friendly people too, just can't understand why we hadn't explored the area before and then at the end of the day we had such a lovely cottage to relax in. Also we found that the cottage was brilliant when we had family visitors on the Sunday. A short walk for an hour so on the beach at East Head and then bak to the cottage for lunch in the garden. We really hope to revisit. Many thanks

Cosy comfortable cottage .. Ideal for walks straight from the front door!
The cottage is very well looked after and we had the benefit of brand new carpet throughout... My husband found the stairs quite steep but was getting used to them by the end of the week ... Beds are extremely comfortable too! We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to come back!

A lovely cozy property , full of character
We really enjoyed our week at the coastguard cottage. The area is so stunning with wonderful walks right on your doorstep. We swam at east head from the beautiful sandy beach. Ten out of ten for this lovely holiday home.
