The house is as described in the listing, with four bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs and a second bathroom on the ground floor, along with a fully equipped kitchen, living room with TV and plenty of seating, and “the orangery”—a cool sunroom which is a great hangout spot. The backyard/garden is big and very nice. Everything in the house is clean and in good shape.
The host’s guidebook in the house gives great recommendations for nearby restaurants, stores, and things to see in and near Chichester, which dates to Roman times. At the very least, walk to town along the canal and visit the beautiful 900 year old cathedral and the adjacent Bishop’s Palace Gardens.
Just as a heads up—the street the house is on has a surprising amount of traffic. And make sure you’re perpendicular to the street when you enter the driveway, as the driveway’s brick entrance columns are closer together than American drivers may be used to.
This house was a great home base for our family’s visit to Chichester.
