Catch a ferry from Itchenor across the water to Bosham in the high season. See the shifting sand dunes and salt marshes at the nature reserve at the National Trust’s East Head, 4 miles away. Head 3 miles into East Wittering to stock up on local produce. Make a picnic and spend the day on the beach at West Wittering, 3.5 miles away. Venture 7 miles into Chichester for some serious retail therapy and to visit the cathedral and Novium Museum. Goodwood, 9 miles away, will be tempting to motoring enthusiasts. The rolling South Downs National Park is the same distance away.

Enter the property to find airy accommodation for you to spread out into and enjoy during your special stay. From the central reception hall, access the ground-floor WC, where you can also hang your coats and leave your footwear. Head through to the elegant, light-filled lounge, where you can slide two doors back onto the south-facing patio to bring in a summer breeze. This lovely room is the perfect place to gather for games and films on the Smart TV. Beyond the dining room, where you can sit down to formal meals, is the equally sociable, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This features additional soft seating and all the equipment you need for cooking up a feast. Pull the bench out from under the table as you sit down to breakfast or morning coffee. There are more doors to slide open to your outside space. Also downstairs are a utility room, a study and a snug with an additional Smart TV for alternative viewing. One of your beautiful king-size bedrooms, with an en-suite shower room, is also downstairs. Climb the wooden staircase up from the hall to find your three remaining bedrooms. These include another wonderful king-size, with an en-suite bathroom and a Juliet balcony where you can take in the picturesque countryside views when you wake up.
