I booked through Expedia thinking it was a hotel of sorts. I can own that if I did not read all details. What was odd to me was a Venmo security deposit which I paid of couse but the booking is paid through Expedia via a credit card. Keep in mind, it's been 2+ weeks and I still have not received the $300 refund, and I have sent several inquiries. The instructions pay were incomplete initially. Neither I or my wife could use until the second set came through. I tried to call but it always went to voicemail. The second cell number they texted to me also always to voice mail. I am 50+, intelligent and ok with technology but this part did not go smoothly for me. What you get is an individual room in a home which was fine for my needs. The location for catching a game is great, just a short walk to the ballpark. What was unnerving for me was upon arrival was the upkeep of the home, steps that needed painting, trim work on the handrails going into the house were missing pieces of trim work. Interior was fine and shared spaces were clean and neat. Constructively, only a bed which was very low to the fllor and 2 small end tables in the room. No chairs or dressers to place any of my items so everything I had was left on the floor. As someone who has owned rentals for decades and an Air BNB, I guess the low price point is the trade off.

Very close to Wrigley Field, easy to get to and easy in and out. Very comfortable. It's a very nice neighborhood. It would be a good place to stay for a group. With that being said, even though we had no issues you still share a bathroom with other guests. That and parking were the only downsides as far as we are concerned.

Booking this property was easy enough. However, once we received the check in instructions, we were asked to pay an additional deposit to “Chicago Daily Rentals” under the email address of duboischicago@gmail.com. When I looked up this address, there were comments about fraud. As we were driving down from Canada to support our daughter in the Chicago Marathon, hotels were booked solid or being offered at outrages nightly fees. We sent the money and photo ID and hoped for the best. We received an email confirming the PayPal amount had gone through and instructions on how to enter the property as it was a self-check in. When we got to our room where the key was in the door as indicated, the bed had not been changed and there were wet towels on the floor. We were extremely disappointed and frustrated. After driving 10 hours we wanted to shower and catch a nap before dinner. We called and had a challenging conversation with the man who answered. We had to go out right away so we left our belongings and hoped for the best. When we returned later that evening, the sheets had been changed and clean towels were available. The property itself is very clean and nicely appointed while the shared bathroom is modern and bright. It was a disappointing process and while they sent us the standard note of apology, it doesn’t change the fact that we could not use what we were paying for upon check in. We felt we wasted our money on the first day.

Do not book here. We booked same day and were traveling to Chicago from the east coast by car. I’m sure it’s normal to ask for a security deposit while booking but they sent us a message while we were on the road after our booking had already been confirmed. We were driving across the country and not checking our messages — they sent a message saying they would cancel our booking if we didn’t send the $300 deposit within an hour. We didn’t see that message until we got to Chicago and therefore assumed they canceled our reservation and that we had been stranded. They ask for the deposit in cash via bank transfer apps ( venmo, Zelle) and it feels very sketchy. It is impossible to talk to a real person, they do not answer the phone and when I said I was not comfortable with the method of payment and communication about sending $300 cash after being sent a vaguely threatening message, they completely stopped all communication with me and we had nowhere to stay for the night. At a bare minimum it is absolutely despicable hospitality and to be quite honest I’m not sure how they fit into the standards of a booking platform to ask for money third party.

They require a large cash or Venmo deposit which is shady. Took them 2 weeks to send it back minus 15$ to which I got no response to why. Communication sucks and they gave me the wrong room. No apology no adjustment. Nothing.
