We came to run the marathon for the first time in Chicago and we discovered an oasis in oak park. The location was close to the train to get into the city. The neighborhood was both historic and very walkable. A number of very good restaurants were near by. Host was excellent and very responsive to all our questions. I wish we had more time to explore.

We were pleasantly surprised by this property, and wished that our travel itinerary was such that we could have stayed more than just one night. Beth, the innkeeper, is personable and tends to every detail. The property is lovely and peaceful. Great dining options just a walk away, train to the city around the corner, and a lovely neighborhood to walk around and revel in the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Highly recommended inn. We shall reurn.

This was the first time I've stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and it was a positive experience. Our room (the Oak Park Suite) was spacious and comfortable, though the pillows on the bed were very flat. Parking was easy, the host/owner was hospitable, and it's an easy walk both to the Metra and to the shops of Oak Park.

Elegance and charm!

Beth is an amazing hostess! The Harvey House is a one-of-a-kind, lovely experience. Such a nice change from the hotel experience. Wonderful common areas that are curated with excellence! If we have a chance to be in that area again we would definitely look for one of the rooms at the Harvey House!

Surprisingly easy street parking for the Chicago area. This property is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. We stayed in the Chalet Suite. Be aware that the Chalet and Oak Park suites are on the third floor and you will have to hike up quite a lot of stairs, but the room is gorgeous if you're up to the hike. The innkeeper, Beth, is very kind and attentive to her guests. She puts a lot of thought into the breakfast as well. We had multigrain croissants imported from France, fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade frittatas, some delicious breads from a local bakery, and more. Great experience!
