Wonderful

House was great along with the location. Road was narrow but still plenty of space on each side with a large pickup. House was clean and furniture was clean. The biggest downside was we specifically wanted a hot tub but went to get in the first night and had debris in it(sand, dirt and leaves) so we dipped out what we could. By the second night it was obvious that the water had been in there a while and a lack of chemicals due to the stagnant smell of the water and was already cloudy. By the 3rd night you couldn’t see the bottom of the tub so we only were able to use it for 1 night. Other than the hot tub everything was great!

Very remote, nice for privacy. Beautiful stream just below hot tub, was nice to hear stream every morning sitting on back porch having coffee. Very tight one lane road going to cabin very steep, a little nerve racking for us. We made sure we were back from daily adventures before dark.
Cleanliness was not good. Wooden floors were very dirty. The master bed mattress cover was filthy. Covered in animal and human hair and stains. Informed property manager Jack and he didn’t seem to believe me so I have photos of just how bad it was. Towels were old and dingy looking. Gatorade bottle and plastic water bottle were left in yard when we arrived? So it was either yard service or previous guest who left them.
Just not what we expected from photos. Will not be returning to this property.
Beautiful and peaceful cabin in the mountains! Loved the extra Christmas decorations for our holiday stay. Had everything we needed and then some. Felt like a home away from home. Excellent owner communication. Would love to stay here again!

Great house.
Great location, minutes from everything you need/want.
Cabin was exactly as described. Pictures do not do it justice. The sound of the creek and constant running creek was so soothing while slipping hot tea on the porch. Our mother loved this trip because of the seclusion and the Mountain View. The host was super responsive. Beds are comfy and kitchen has everything you need to stay in and cook a nice meal, you just have to bring the groceries. We loved our stay and will definitely rebook when we return to this town.

Great property with nice views.
Please make sure if you are checking out on a Sunday, the trash dump is closed.
We really enjoyed the small touches like the Xmas decorations. The house was clean and very comfortable, we loved relaxing in the chairs in front of the fire. It was easy to find and close to all the amenities. Would definitely come back again

Great place to stay for a mountain getaway
We had a great time at Fox Run. The scenery was gorgeous. The kids loved exploring the property and hiking up to the waterfall. We all enjoyed unplugging and relaxing in the cabin. The best part was watching the kids wake up to a dusting of snow.

Fun time! Cozy and secluded!
Second time staying at Horse Shoe Bend... there's a reason we came back. House is close to all the fun things to do in Cherokee but we spent a lot of time hanging out on the porches and in the hot tub!! Great spaces inside---worked well for our two combined families of kids and dogs. Well equipped kitchen and owners were awesome to work with… We will definitely be back I'm sure!

Beautiful property, wonderful deck
I would most definitely recommend this Cabin to a friend. Everything including appliances were updated and managed well. Only complaint wold be the dog that chases you up and down the driveway, we never could find out where he lived.
It was remote (very remote) BUT was nice to get away. The house was nicely laid out, had everything we needed. The property was on a ravine and cleared off piece with trees around. I am glad we took the SUV because you drive through a creek to get to the house, which was fun!

Quiet cabin in the woods
This is a very nice cabin in a wooded neighborhood close to the main access roads and a short drive into Cherokee or the National Park. Comfortable bedrooms, spacious main living area with cozy couches, and peaceful deck perfect for outdoor grilling or eating out. Owner is very nice and accessible if there are any issues. We suggest a 4WD if you have one as the road into the cabin is steep. We enjoyed our peaceful hiking vacation!

Right on the money!!
Cabin was great! It was just what we needed and in close proximatey to the casino for the concert there we attended. Donnie was great, let us check in early, called to make sure we arrived and told us to call if we needed anything! The driveway, not too bad, just pay attention!! Hot tub on a clear night yields to millions of stars, so don't forget to look up! Thank you so much Donnie! We will be back!

Great cabin !!!!
Our family stayed from 12/20-12/27/2014 . We had a fantastic , relaxing time at Horse Shoe Bend. Enjoyed the great view every morning from the swing in the front porch . We only used the grill outside once , due to the cold . The Jacuzzi was wonderful. We visited Sylva and Bryson City a few times , drove to Gatlingurg , TN and had a great time there. We also visited the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, went hiking on several trails, went to see several of the waterfalls , Mingo Falls was my favorite. Donnie was a pleasure to work with . We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return during summer months soon .

Amazing get away!
Six of is stayed at this cabin over the weekend. It was absolutely beautiful and just what we all needed. Very relaxing and a wonderful view of the wilderness. donnie helped us with everything and was amazing. He was very quick when responding to any of my questions. There are a ton of activities close by. We chose white water rafting, it was only twenty miles away. We also enjoyed the flea market. The cabin comes equipped with everything we needed..we used the hot tub and grilled out for dinner both nights. Very relaxing. I would recommend for all! Just beware of the steep driveway :-) we took a mini van filled with six adults, duffle bags and groceries so it was a little scary making it up the mountain. Once we got the hang of it, it was fine. I hope the next group enjoys it as much as we did.

Unhappy
There was a lot of ants in the kitchen and was unable to leave cookies on counter. They were covered in ants and roaches. We had mouse running around during our stay. The pictures online where we made them was so much better than there. Unable to see the creek because of overgrowth and grass needed cutting. The pillows also were very used and had a smell to them. Please know that this is the only bad review I have ever left at any stays. We only slept at cabin because of these issues with the bugs and critters, didn't "hang out" there.

Nice but needs some attention
Our group of 6 adults and a baby stayed at Horse Shoe Bend for 5 nights. It was a great size for our group with plenty of room in the bedrooms, living room and outdoor area. The kitchen was small, but worked out fine for cooking breakfasts and a few dinners and was well stocked with utensils, dishes, etc. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. We loved sitting out on the porch and enjoying the sound of the birds and crickets in the morning. The hot tub was relaxing at the end of the day. We also thought the location was perfect - close to Cherokee and the Smokey Mountain highlights but away from the hustle and activity of Gatlinburg.
On the downside, the house needs a good deep cleaning and is in need of some repairs. The owner was VERY responsive to our concerns and worked with us to address concerns. Also, the bathrooms were a little inconvenient for 6 adults since they were located in 2 of the bedrooms rather than accessible through a shared hallway.
Thanks to Donnie for sharing his home in such a beautiful location.
Loved waking up and sitting on the porch in the mornings before the other woke up. Being from Florida the weather was great with no humidity. Only suggestion would be to up date couch and recliner, they seemed a little wore out. Loved being able to take my dog he loved playing with his dad in the creek and laying on the porch.
