"The Villa Aloni exceeded all our expectations in terms of quality and facilities. We were looking for somewhere in "hidden Crete" and this property in Maza gave us a sense of rural remoteness but with access to the national road (and easy drives to Hania and Rethymnon) in 5 minutes. "For starters the staff at Corinna Mare is exceptional - they really look after you and take care of you and best of all super genuine and polite and nice! The property is always well maintained, the beach is literally in their backyard and the dual pools is bonus. One thing you must do is have dinner there - I promise you it is so worth it if you have dorado fish - chefs kiss! The roof we had near the front adjacent to the gate and it had two balconies - one in the bedroom and one in the kitchenette/living space. Used them both at night and it’s such a peaceful treat to have after a long day of excursions and driving. I would definitely come back and stay - I don’t have anything negative to really say here. They even do your laundry for a small fee! Excellent job Corinna Mare team!"

"Excellent séjour au Porto Veneziano Hotel! L’emplacement est idéal pour profiter de Chania à pied. La chambre est un peu petite, mais confortable, avec un balcon très agréable. La douche est de bonne dimension et bien conçue — enfin une salle de bain où l’eau ne se retrouve pas partout! Le personnel est très sympathique, accueillant et serviable. Le stationnement est également très pratique. Gros coup de cœur pour le petit-déjeuner : beaucoup de choix à la carte, service à la table et petit buffet en complément. Les aliments sont frais et les plats de très bonne qualité. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour et recommandons cet hôtel sans hésitation."

"Decent hotel overall which ticks all the boxes without quite reaching any particular 'wow' factor. The private loungers on the beach were a highlight and the beach is clean with good sand, clear water and great for swimming. Theres also 2 additional pools which are decent and not busy even in peak season when we visited. Being an adults only hotel meant that it was peaceful without noisy kids taking over, however there are a lot of screeching cicadas in the area which are a bit like sitting next to a car alarm especially on the room's balcony area. We opted for half board which was unnecessary as we went into town for dinner, the evening buffet was ok but not amazing, breakfast buffet was good though. From chatting to locals this is one of the bigger hotels in the area and one of the few adults only. Its well regarded locally but having been to varoius other 5 star places it wasnt exceptional, but for Chania its a very good option. The hotel is well located with a handy public bus service into old town; Chania town is very pleasant and has a lot of good places to eat but the best restaurants are away from the harbour. Overall an enjoyable stay."
