We had a spacious, comfortable room with a comfy bed, a great walk in shower and nice toiletries. There is some street noise, but the windows are double glazed and the air con is pretty quiet and efficient. Check in via lock box was straightforward and the remote team were very responsive.
All the staff were so lovely and accommodating! Helped us with basic Greek phrases and let us leave our luggage for the day before our flight! The hotel itself is beautiful with massive rooms and lovely artwork! Would definitely stay here again!
I have stayed here three time's and as expected the room and service was very good, however I have always stayed in the ground floor double room and although last time we did have some noise from the street outside this time unfortunately we not only had noise from a group of rowdy youngsters but one of them proceeded to rattle the doors to our room much to the amusement of his/her mates who were laughing, shouting and swearing outside the room until the wee hours!
The owner made sure that I was properly able to check in. She was very accommodating and gave explicit instructions as to how to get into the room. The room was large, had a refrigerator that worked well, and was worth every penny.
Our room was on the ground floor and opened up to the outside. Great condition, felt safe. The hotel is in a fantastic location. 5 min walk to the bus station, 5 min walk to the old port. The receptionist, Lydia, was very helpful. She gave us honest recommendations for food and activities. We took a day trip to Falassarna and she held our luggage at reception hours after we checked out! Only downside was the noise of people walking by at night. We would definitely stay here again. Next time longer than 1 night!
Originally booked a ground floor room but after our 1st night i asked if we could be moved as it was terribly noisy (had read this in other reviews but didnt think it would be so bad) spoke to Eline and she gave us an upgrade to the room above which was so much quieter, couldnt fault anything, it was clean, comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. Excellent location for exploring Chania old and new town, taxi and bus station all within a 5 minute walk as is the old harbour, whilst here we did Samaria gorge, Balos bay, Gramvousa island, Aghia Marina. Not much in the way of a beach however we found a nice little area to the right of the harbour probably about a 20 min walk with lots of drink stops on the way, a very small beach with no shade or sunbeds but this wasnt a problem for us, the sea however was amazing and so safe and shallow great for little ones.
Our second time in Chania, we decided to try a new hotel. Fileas Art Hotel is situated in a very nice location in old town Chania, easy short distsnce to pull your luggage to from the central bus station. Our room was very roomy and bright with a large walk in bathroom on the 1st floor facing the front of the hotel. It is truly a new boutique hotel with tasteful art and decor. No rooftop sitting area but not necessary at all since there are abundant restaurants to visit that you will want to go out and visit. Great famy restaurants right outside your door. The ground floor room may not be ideal since you can't open the shade since there is no privacy. We needed 5nites but was only able to secure 3nites due to late planning and loved every moment of it. Had to move to nearby hotel for remaining 2nites which was very nice too. Chania is an amaxing city and there is so much to see and do. Wecrented a car for a few days and can always find parking in such a busy town. Be patient and you will find one. Rent small cars to get around since streets are narrow and it makes parking a lot easier.
This is a gem of a hotel right in the heart of Chania. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - Lydia contacted me the day before I arrived to confirm my arrival time which is always reassuring. She also gave me lots of info on the local area when I arrived as well as a lovely Greek sesame bar which was lovely!
I did find my ground floor room a little noisy with the passing foot traffic and when I pointed this out to Lydia I was moved to a higher room within a couple of hours (at no extra charge). The room was cleaned really well and even my clothes folded or hung on an airer. The cleaning lady was also really friendly too. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom facilities excellent. I think you could have breakfast at a sister hotel but I always bought mine from one of the local coffee/pastry establishments.
I would definitely stay here again - thank you!!
A wonderful little find in the centre of the old town, 2 minutes walk to the harbour. I booked a superior double which was a decent size and overlooked the main street with its bustling shops and little tavernas. Being in the centre we expected to hear lots of noise but it wasn't overwhelming and was quiet when we got back at 11pm. Very clean, had slippers, robes, toiletries and flannels along with tea and coffee making facilities. The price was perfect for our budget travelling and I will definitely book this hotel again!
Right in the heart of the city, you just step out your front door and your on the main drag, location is ideal for all sites bars and restaurants.
The receptionist on the front desk couldn't be any more helpful, suggesting restaurants to try, trips to do, she was excellent
