Alex has done a wonderful job with Casa Kasteli. The ground floor suite we stayed in was simply wonderful, with a kitchen, clothes washing machine, secluded outdoor patio (that backs up to some ancient walls), and a whirlpool/hot tub available if desired. He has readily-available controlled-access parking less than 50 feet from the front door - a true rarity in Chania. Walking distance to the historic port and all of the amenities it provides - from fine dining to blocks of art studios and shops. Truly a remarkable place to stay, and an excellent base for exploring not only Chania, but the rest of the island as well.

Everything was amazing, from check-in to check-out! This was honestly my best stay in Greece yet. Very convenient area and the owner is very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. I recommend speaking with him and his staff about any and every question you could possibly have. This is a new go-to spot when visiting Crete!

Location - excellent. Very short walking distance into the heart of Old Town and the Harbour. Several laundromats are within walking distance. A plus as well is that it's on a street that cars are allowed to drive onto which is not the case for all streets in Old Town. Property owners - very helpful and friendly. Went the extra mile to help with heavy luggages and gave good recommendations. There may be a small cultural diff as we would lock the windows and would return to them being opened but this was done with good intentions. The rooms are a little older but that is to be expected as it's within an old city. They were extremely clean, the bathroom was spacious, it was nice to have the two rooms but only one has air conditioning. The balcony/patio area was lovely as well and felt almost tropical. My only complaint would be that the mattresses very very thin which made them a little uncomfortable though not something that was unbearable. All in all a great experience and I def won't mind staying here again.

What could we say about our host Alex? What a wonderful human being!! Thanks to his kindness, warmth, joy and passion for life and people, we felt welcome the second we met him ! We arrived late in Chania after a ferry trip and a 3 hours drive, and Alex was so understanding, he was waiting for us and spent almost an hour with us, showing us his beautiful Casa Kastelli and brought us to a local restaurant he knew that served us the perfect meal at 11 pm with smiles and kindness. Everybody knows Alex in the neighborhood, it was like walking the streets with a rockstar! The house is superb, even nicer than in the pictures on the website. The welcoming gifts in the fridge were out of this world! Alex helped us during all of our stay with everything: from making the spa ready for us after our hike to organize a beautiful trip to the Samara gorge! We felt like home with our dad even if we’re 50 years old and Alex is bit much older but it doesn’t show , he looks like 35 years old ! Thanks Alex and your family for the greatest 3 nights stay of our 26 days trip to Greece !! We’ll be back for sure !!

Not worth the money, unresponsive host

The place is overpriced. It is very basic and worn off. What is more concerning is safety: we had an emergency in the property and the manager Alex was unavailable for 2 hrs. during the emergency. The door lock got stuck and my guest, an old man with a hear condition was locked in for 2 hrs. and had to leave unsafely through a high window. When the manager finally showed up, he was extremely aggressive and upset that we complained for being locked for hours. He refused to repair the door until next morning and the room I paid for could not be closed off and was useless - as shown on picture. It was not until Hotels got involved that he removed the door and fixed it. The experience ruined our vacation. Stay away from this property and this host.

First time in Chania, Casa Kasteli was perfect! Excellent location, amazing friendly and attentive owner. Alex is a wonderful host, he will make you feel at home. Clean room, cozy balcony, comfortable bed, good water pressure, steps to Harbor and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Awesome stay

Alex and Anthony are wonderful people! Our luggage was lost, Alex helped us locate and the airline brought luggage to the hotel! My luggage was handle was broken and Alex fixed it for me. The room was so nice, had a balcony looking g out over the city and it was so lovely to sit and enjoy the evening!

Perfect location, free next door parking available, helpful friendly and communicative host who worked to make sure we knew where to go and where to eat. Much more comfortable beds than most places we stayed. Great AC, good water pressure. Extra huge comforter blankets in the closet. If im ever in the area again I'll definitely stay here again.

Highly Recommended!!!

I cannot areas enough how amazing this place is. Not only is it close to EVERYTHING you could possible need in Chania, it was clean, beautiful and relaxing all around. Alex, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to help us with anything and everything we needed. From booking day excursions, finding the best restaurants, to providing any household items we might need. Even offered to take our laundry to the cleaners for us ! If you're coming to Chania it would be a shame not to stay in this beautiful hotel.

Awesome Stay - Strongly recommend

Excellent location only steps away from the main Chania area where all the shops, bars, restaurants, pubs and wharf are. Only a 15 minute leisure walk to Nea Xora beach, I went every day I was there. Alex is a great host and keeps his hotel in very good order. Daily housekeeping, clean rooms, excellent working condition for the air conditioner, shower, refridgerator and TV. I would stay here again and recommend Kastelli to everybody.

Wonderful location about 10 minutes from everywhere including the old town and port. Public parking in 10 mins distance as well. Friendly and clean with a cute balcony. Very good for this value and will recommend for sure.
