"I was able to book a room, check in, and check out without talking to another person. I was fine with that, but some people may want more of a personal touch. The room was clean. However, the room smelled like sewer for most of the night, only fading when we took a shower. The refrigerator in the room did not work, spoiling our leftovers. It was quiet, most likely because the hotel was fairly empty. The breakfast in the morning was included but not good. Pancakes made by a robot, did not taste right. Eggs and sausage were fine, same with the cereal. Coffee and pastries were bad. Serviceable as a place to stop off to go to sleep but I would not recommend as a place to stay for multiple nights. It is about a 7 minute drive to Mount Rushmore which was convenient, and there are lots of quotes from Teddy Roosevelt for you to enjoy. 2/5 stars"

"Absolutely liked everything about this place. The only downfall with our stay was the present of wasps. My husband looked and found a nest. I messaged the owner and they took care of removing the nest that same day. We highly recommend anyone to stay at this place. We stayed in unit 3 and I’m sure all the other units are just as great .. "

"The host, David, is amazing and so friendly. He goes out of his way from the very beginning of your trip, until the time you leave, to ensure your stay is comfortable and to your standards. When we got there the temperature was expected to drop drastically and he offered us space heaters to warm the yurt which worked great! My only complaint about the stay is the portable restroom was absolutely disgusting. "

"Ghost Canyon Gettaway is a wonderful place! All aspects of our stay were very enjoyable. Communication with our host was great. Everything was clean and the location is quiet. It's close to Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore and Wind Cave is not that far either. Hermosa is reasonably close to get supplies or go eat. My wife had a nice time and that's important:) Highly recommended!"

"It took a couple days to adjust to the change in view from our favorite spot on the back porch, not to mention the sounds of construction on Christmas Eve as the monstrosity of a home being built against the mesa continued. Our favorite spot at the Getaway is now much different as the peaceful seclusion we once experienced is now property tainted by money. "
